Feast Your Eyes on This Spicy Cooking Challenge 2012- Round 4 Contestant Videos

We had another issue this week, and unfortunately it is no April Fool’s Day joke. Chip sent me a video on Friday, and I didn’t get a chance to watch it until I was home from work on Saturday. It was at this point that I realized that Chip did not send me the right file. When I called Chip and told him about the problem, he was on vacation in Florida and was helpless to fix it. Not coming home until Friday, there is little I can do to keep him alive in our spicy cooking challenge. We have a schedule to meet, and there is little room for error. So it hurts me to say, but Chip is out by default. If I had known sooner, I could’ve brought back Rob who was just 1 point from Chip to take his spot. It is what it is, and we move on. Chip, I want to thank you so much for being a part of the cooking challenge and sorry it had to end in such a way. Please give Chip some support at www.RedLionSpicyFoods.com.

As a result of Chip’s sudden departure, no one else will be eliminated this week, but we do have a $50 prize to hand out from our friends at EatMoreHeat.com.

The boys over at EatMoreHeat, led by James Wreck are a fun group of chileheads whose aim is to entertain our friendly little community with some humor and daring feats. Their live webcast every Tuesday at 9pm est/6pm pst allows them to give their own take on the latest happenings, do live interviews from some of the new movers and shakers, and still leave a little time to have their boy John Scrovak to do some unusual stupid human tricks. Check them out soon!

I also want to say thanks to our other newest Sponsor, Texas Creek Products who will be contributing $100 ($50/2nd place and $50/3rd place). Please check out their award winning hot sauces and cooking sauces and their new Pure Evil Capsaicin Drops made with 15 Million Crystalline Capsaicin, but it is not an extract with the usual bitter metallic flavor. It has a neutral taste and smell, and adding a few drops to your food or soup will make it an instant chilehead level companion to have in your cupboard.

Our other sponsors, Chad Lowcock of Race City Sauce Works is also contributing to the 2nd place prize pool with an additional $100. Endorphin Farms has also been their from the start with their contribution to the Spicy Condiment Challenge. Please check out both their new retooled websites.

Our first place prizes come from the NOLA Hot Sauce & Gourmet Show and the Houston Hot Sauce Shows. The winner will get a free both at each show valued over $1000. A big thanks goes out to our great sponsors for which we would not be having this contest if it wasn’t for their kind hearts. Much spicy love my friends.

This round is a Texas Challenge. Our contestants had to make a Texas style dish with 2 sides. One side dish must incorporate broccoli and the other was up to them.

We have lost 2 of the 3 PA contestants because of fluke problems. Will Jeff be next? Still holding strong are Shauna from Cali, Crazy Steve from Jersey, and Chris from Missouri. Awesome job this week!

Everything looked great, but was hoping for a “twist” with the broccoli….

You all really did great, it was tough to rank you this week.

I actually had a four-way tie when it came to points scoring in the judging. That’s how close it was for me. It was the “little things” that determined the ranking.
