North Market Fiery Food Show- Part 4- CaJohn’s Wing Eating Contest

Because of the length of the wing contest and how little charge I left in my camcorder, I could not finish filming the entire event. In fact I missed out on just the final round. I will announce the winner at the end of the video.

I previously mentioned that there was controversy with the winner, so let me address that here. I noticed that there was meat left on both the 1st and 2nd place winners wings, whilst the 3rd place finisher Donte, last year’s wing Champ, had his wings cleaned to the bone. It is all semantics in how clean the bones have to be, so the winners stayed as they were. You can see the technique and cleanliness of Donte’s wing eating. It was like watching an artist perform live. Unfortunately, the Chicken Wing Gods did not see it as I did.

Overall, CaJohn put on a fun event, and the crowd was totally into it. I had a ball walking around and seeing the faces instead of being one of those faces. I hope the video serves it’s purpose despite the finish. If you have a weak stomach, there is some visuals on the video midway that might leave you queasy, so be forewarned. Enjoy!

Was the winner supposed to be announced at the end if this video, or a future video?

He said the winner was the “reaper crew guy” The one with his hat turned backwards. Too bad you didn’t get more of the “snot guy” That’s just good entertainment!

I didn’t see the wing eating contest. when Danny and I got there at 10 minutes till the red head lady said they had all they could take. I did check out Dante’s technique though. He knows how to suck the meat off those bones. We left before the end of the contest.

I see the annotation now showing the winner. I had viewed this video earlier on my iPhone, and annotations don’t display on there.

I wish I could be a part of a contest that didn’t rely so much on a time limit or speed. If I eat too fast, the food will get stuck because of my lapband. Watching it was entertaining, but it would’ve been more fun to be a part of the action.

The thing that always gets me about wings is the actual scalding-hot temperature of the food, not the spiciness of the sauce. I cannot eat wings that come right out of the fryer, even with room temperature sauce on them. Let them cool down, and then I’ll see if I can scarf down wings fast.

Hi folks, I’m the one who was taping in front of Justin and Justin. The best footage I got is 30 mins long though, so I need to edited it down to get it on to You Tube. That footage included some moments that sufficiently grossed me out, as some comical moments too. Overall, awesome job contestants! Here are two of the other videos (sorry about my editing!):

Food stuck in Buddah = Good ol’ fashioned family fun too. Maybe we can get a video of him eating too fast at the sushi bar In New Mexico! :_greenpepper:

I have had sushi 5 times including once in New Mexico since my surgery, and I have thrown up 2 times, so it is a good chance. Asian food has been an issue for me for some reason, maybe the rice, I don’t know. I just have to eat real slow and chew it up or all hell will break loose. It isn’t your atypical throw up either, it is stomach fluid too. It comes out like cobwebs, sticky strands that will adhere to anything it touches. 😕
