Peppers at the Beach REVIEW: Heartbreaking Dawns

Johnny of Heartbreaking Dawns gives out some product for our on the spot review team. First is the Fiery Trail Preserves, then the Lemon Ice Aji Pepper sauce. After that, Johnny eats a white chocolate-covered habanero while handing out some samples to a perspective customer without breaking a sweat.

John already took a Deathmatch trophy at a recent Defcon Day here in NJ. He got an iPod for the win as well.

I keep saying I wouldn’t do another after the NJ Deathmatch, but I keep thinking about the next one at the same time. I guess that’s how this works, I know what’s gonna happen, but i’m still gonna do it….yeah, next DM, I am in!!!

Welcome to ILIS aLLi. Remember none of us started with a baby bottle with hot sauce in it. All it takes is someone with a tasty product to get you started. In this case you will have Heartbreaking Dawns to thank for getting you started. There are so many tasty products that are mildly spicy out there for you to discover.

    Nicely put Buddah.

    I completely agree.

It isn’t always about extreme heat all the time.

Most spicy consumers prefer fantastic flavor with a kick.

i’m now officially “in training” for weekend of fire, and i got a nice bottle of zero from the Peppers event to get me in shape, it’s like a fiery morning jog!

Johnny, the Weekend of Fire Deathmatch is the Championship Deathmatch, so you are going against seasoned veterans and the sauce…and the sauce…well it is a wee bit hotter. The prize IS glorious though and one that would look good on any mantelplace.

Yes, buddah, I have been told that the sauce is about 4 x more intense then the deathmatch i participated in, but you know it’s all about the experience, and the fun and the flavor. If I make it a quarter through i’ll be happy, and hey you gotta be in it to win it brother!

LOL – nope, my baby girl Madisyn. She’s three now, only a few weeks old in there. CaJohn sent her that 10 Bottle and Nipple. Still in my display case!

I was more shocked to think that looked like a baby Scott Roberts. If there was a goatee, maybe. 😀

I’ve been contemplating entering a Deathmatch, but I don’t know if there is any way possible I could eat eat the wings fast enough. I timed Hudd last year blazing through of 10 of ’em in something like 1:48.

Another hindrance for me is the actual temperature of the wings. I cannot eat wings when they’re straight out of the fryer. Add some of Defcon’s sauce to that, and you’ve got all that capsaicin hitting the charred remains of the skin on the roof of my mouth…ouch! :_onfire:
