REVIEW- Ol’ Gringo’s Chuckwagon Chipotle & Howling Hickory
Ol’ Gringo has been an multiple award winning hot sauce company, capturing glory over the last 3 years. Why haven’t you heard of them with that much gold on the mantel place? Well they have won it primarily as a private label sauce company. After sitting back and watching other companies get the glory for their sauces, they now they want to step from behind the curtain and get their name out there.
So they have come out with fresh labels that remind one of the Old West, but since they are from Texas, I would say they capture that cowboy feel very nicely as well. They also have a brand spankin’ new website, www.olgringos.com. While it has that Texas sense about it, there is still more I would like to see. I think the need to have which sauces won what awards is very important for people looking for such things. Also, a way to click on each bottle to see it more clearly is one of those hot sauce things I like to see when I visit a product page. They are looking for some feedback, so please check their site out and let them know here what you think.

First of all, it is a breach of their non-disclosure to reveal who’s sauces they really are. Second it is very unprofessional, these are good folks, and I can’t believe they would do that. They are NOT in fact the winner of those awards. The companies that paid the entry money to compete are the winners. They have the right to sit on the sidelines and feel proud, just like the Dad who watches his son hit the home run.
He doesn’t want to sound like Pepper Joe….Lol!
Yeah, it shows you how old this review was, back when Pepper Joe was still on board with doing reviews with ILIS.
and you know their non-disclosure because…?
Just joking… I agree with you on this matter of ethics.
and their website shows all kind of brands they produced…
We all (manufacturers) have one, it protects the innocent!
Could they have gotten those brands’ written permission before putting them up there? The upside to that is those private label brands could get more exposure.
No, look for changes coming to the site soon!
