Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show

I have been to this show for the past 2 years, and going again this weekend. Once this show hits lunchtime, the crowd is fierce. The trend I see though at the shows is that the hot sauce vendors do not make return appearances. I met Blair last year at the show, but he is not scheduled for a spot this year. I met Michele and Tom of Intensity Academy the year before, and they haven’t come back. Maybe that is due to the fact that they have their own Metro show in Tampa Bay where they are from. Convenient. I also have seen Gunther’s Gourmet and Uncle Brutha’s, but both are not on the list. Actually Uncle Brutha is getting some kind of personal award for his company a few miles away in Maryland.

At any rate, I see Dick Taylor’s B-More Nutz on the list, and I am a big fan of his seasoned potato chip coated peanuts. I look forward to seeing him at least and bringing some of the other fiery food vendors on the list and their spicy treats back to you. As you can see the show is about some celebrity chefs. My first year I saw Paula Deen and the next year I saw Guy Fieri. Very entertaining guy he is. Paula is too, but she lets her assistants do all the work while she schmoozes with the crowd. Guy mixes the playful antics with cooking. I prefer that style.

I will meet up with Jon Scrovak of the SpicyRv.com. Remember he is the guy in the “Trinidad Scorpion Invades Houston” video that could not handle the heat of the pepper and the alcoholic whipped cream combo. I hope to also meet up with Firehead Thomas and his lovely wife Annabelle, but that has not been confirmed yet. There is a beer and wine tasting area, and Jon thinks I am a drinker of suds. Won’t he be surprised? Foo-foo drinks or bust for me.

You can click on the link here and that will take you right to the event page for the show if you want more info. Otherwise, I copied and pasted their show file below. Probably more info than you need, but what the hey.

We plan to go, but I’m not married. I believe Johnny and Nicole from HBD will also be in attendance, as fans not vendors.

I’m sorry Tom, I know you have said as much before. Too senile to remember. That’s good to hear about Nicole and Johnny. Give me a call later please.
