Just a week and half from now one of the biggest spicy food events will be under way. I was at the last Zestfest back in September of 2009, and while it was happening it was in a need of a face lift. With new ownership taking over the show and Golden Chile Awards, Chile Pepper magazine’s role reduced to just that of a sponsor, and a spanking brand new venue, Zestfest will be the talk of Texas. At least until the Super Bowl takes over all news in the area the following week.
If you plan on coming, make sure you go with an empty tummy because you will be sampling a lot of stuff while there. Save the super hot stuff for a second trip around the show, and enjoy all the flavors that aren’t over the top spicy, but are full with wonderful flavor and zestiness. This is the Dallas-Forth Worth area, so make sure your stay has time to explore what the surrounding area has to offer. When you are done with the tourist thing, come back for another trip around the show! Support the vendors whom spend a pretty penny to setup a booth to get their products in the mainstream spotlight.
