Jim Duffy on Fox News in San Diego
Jim Duffy of www.superhotchilies.com got an opportunity of a lifetime to talk about his chile peppers on the Fox News Morning Show on Super Bowl Sunday. In doing so he spread the love by mentioning a few others as well, including some product placement. Nice job Jim!
Watch the anchor lady take on the Trinidad Scorpion. I have to ask Jim, does she feel the heat after the video is over? There wasn’t enough time for the heat to kick in.
He should have cut a piece closer to the stem where the seeds are, then she would have tasted hot. The bottom of the pepper is weakest in terms of hotness.
:toilet:
Hey Max, sorry that I never addressed your other post here and on YouTube. I was on vacation in Vegas. Welcome to ILIS. The Moruga Scorpion was quite hot, but the Trinidad Scorpion is a bigger build up and payoff. Plus it tastes better. So where exactly is Moruga anyway?
I totally agree. Should’ve tortured her Jim. 😈
It’s a district in the central south coast of Trinidad, it may have a deeper meaning for the pepper though.
lol If that was a “ButchT” Scorpion, it should have been hot all the way thru, sometimes the reporter barely takes a bite and won’t receive the full heat (I’ve had it happen b4) I’m pretty sure I sent seeds to Jim, I wonder whose Scorpions he’s growing??
The Moruga Scorpion that I ate (Jim sent me) was a bit past it’s prime (my fault) and still kicked the crap out of me. Worst (or best) 15 minute burn I’ve ever had!
The lady did not chew and swallowed immediately. She is a chilehead and knew if she chewed it it would release and she would feel it. It did come on more after camera was off but she does have a good tolerance. Johnny’s Scorpion sauce has decent heat, not flaming heat and she ate some of that off camera and she did not notice heat. So again I say she has a high tolerance. Before we went live she told me when she eats Thai food they bring her the Hottest dishes and it does not faze her.
Hi Butch, I never did get seeds from you. I collected seeds from plants I bought from Janie. I also grew out plants from seed sources in U.K. and Neal. Never documented which plants were which in 2007 and collected seeds from all of them and now that is my seed stock. This year I am growing seeds out from Judy that are yours so I can see if I get something different.
