We are now down to 5 spicy competitors. For those unaware of what happened during the week, Bill of Buddha Bill’s had to step out of the challenge because of pneumonia that he got last week. He told me he thought he could do it, but as the days proceeded he wasn’t getting better and he certainly didn’t want to cook something for people while he was in this condition and perhaps get them sick too. We are sorry to lose him, please show him some love and check out his website and try some of his great products. Get well Bill.
I had to make an executive decision, and since Butch T was still into it, I allowed him back into the competition albeit a 4 day handicap since he was told on Wednesday when Bill dropped out. Bill was 5th and Butch was 6th last round, so I thought it was a close enough race to switch one for the other. I informed all the competitors of my decision, and we move on from here. Welcome back Butch.
This round was called “Finger Food Frenzy” and it was about creating spicy finger food. We gave them 4 items to make plus a spicy dipping sauce. The items were:
1- Sliders (a set of 3 of the same)
2- Pastry/Wonton crunchy/flaky thingy
3- Something on a stick
4- Fried food
Each of the contestants had their own food category based on their Round 3 finish and their choice was thus:
1- Johnny- Pork/Pig/Boar
2- Sam- Poultry/Bird
3- Clement- Grain(bread, pasta, rice, corn, etc)
4- Scott- Beef/Lamb/Veal
5- Butch- Cheese
They were allowed to make as many more things if they felt they had the time, but I knew it was going to be truly a frenzy to fit it all into the 8 minute assigned video time. It doesn’t get easy at this stage of the game. The recipe videos that appear are in the order they are received. Johnny from Heartbreaking Dawns has won the last 3 rounds. Can he be stopped? Is there anyone who can step up to meet him at his cooking level? The Round 4 $50 prize from Endorphin Farms is there for the taking? Only time will tell, as our judges have their work cutout for them.

Just to confuse everyone with the hand, it is not round 5 yet. 😆 It was the closest picture I had to finger food. Good luck everyone.
Johnny, what happened to the robe?!?
Sorry i couldnt be in this one guys. Everyone did an amazing job! Tough competition! Im glad im not a judge. So many good dishes.
How are you feeling Bill?
Im feeling better. I havnt had a fever. Im still very tired. I dont think I have ever been that sick. Oh well!
Have a shot of hot sauce in your chicken soup.
I just thought i’d mix it up a bit, different days, different ways! Glad to see you sporting the robe tho!
WOWOWOWOWOWOW!!! Everyone did a phenomenal job! This competition is OOOOONNN!! I can’t wait to see how this one pans out. Everyone really brought their best! :_thumbsup:
Great work boys!
Amazing! I got so hungry I had to stop and eat in middle of videos. Hardest round to judge so far. I had to look at videos three times. Before making up my mind!
Great job everyone! We got some good cooks in da house!
A dose of b12 always seems to get me back on track after being sick. Glad your feeling better!
I’m definitely hungry now. Awesome.
Really nice job. Looks like everyone in this competition has A game!
I have to say that I think the smoked duck pheasant corn dogs had my attention. The suicide poppers were very interesting with the cola batter. You can never go wrong with Boudin balls though.
Just a side note, I won a 1st place in the brisket division at a Central City cookoff this weekend, using the exact same recipe I used for my corned beef in this challenge :_bananadancing: I just wish I could have showed how delicious it was on the video!
