Here at ILIS we always try to make it known that if you have a video to help promote your spicy products, then we would love to help. I saw Crazy Steve Zielinski post this video on Facebook, so I knew I had to lend a helping hand. So check out what is going on in the Crazy world of pickles and salsa.
From Steve Zielinski, owner of Crazy Steve’s Pickles & Salsa:
“Last year I started a cause called “Pickles Against World Hunger”, which I am getting celebrity chefs to sign on to. Mario Batali has signed on and Ted Allen of “Chopped” said he will sign on as well. Also, Chefs Ralph Mazzocchi, Janet Zappala, Aaron McCargo Jr., Barry Sexton, and Rock Fino signed as well.
A portion of last years sales from May to November are going to WHYHunger.org
As I said, we are in 25+ stores and Whole Foods and The Fresh Market in NJ and PA are looking to carry our concoctions in their locations. Currently I am making our products in a commercial kitchen after hours, and cannot keep up with the demand.
This is where we need your help. I have 2 co-packers who would be able to make both pickles and salsa for us and can meet our expansion. The minimum order for each variety is 1000 pounds or about 100 cases of each. We have 5 varieties of pickles and 5 of our most popular salsa, that’s 10,000 pounds of concoctions! We are looking at $15,000 to start pickle production. With your help we can go beyond our goal and produce both “Pickles and Salsa for the People” which would be a first run of $28,000.
