Bonfatto’s at the Beach Review and Dessert

Scott Roberts and I did a little Bonfatto wing sauce and marinade sampling whilst at the Peppers at the Beach show. David Letterman, owner of Bonfatto’s, and not the late night talk show host, took us on a chicken sampling tour. Then just when you couldn’t get enough, we did a special dessert twist with my Scorpion peanut butter pie that rocked our world. Check it out…

I’ve been eating a small bowl of vanilla bean ice cream with the Apple Pepper Jack every couple of days since I’ve come back from Peppers at the Beach. Killer stuff!

The Letterman’s are a couple of great people. They are a lot of fun to hang out with on the circuit. I think, they produce one of the most upscale and unique line of wing sauces on the market. Each flavor lives up to its name – if it says Peaches on the label – the flavor of peaches is present and predominate. After the Gunther Gala – I had a lot of leftover wing sauces (I have all 7 of Bonfatto’s) – so I have been doing a lot of wing nights with friends where the Bonfatto’s wings are generally the most sought after wings at the party – everyone has their favorite flavor and they seem to go the quickest. Great line of sauces – a must try!!

I picked FIRE IN THE HOLE as my favorite wing sauce of 2010. The others are more suitable to other uses. The Apple Pepper Jack is terrific on any grilled pork application, not so much on wings in my opinion.
