UCCFS: Fried Chicken vs Chicken Noodle Soup Round 1

Heartland of American cooking is what we have here in this matchup. Our third 1st seed, Fried Chicken against 16 seed Chicken Noodle Soup. Fried Chicken the way your Mom made for you or was it the Kentucky Colonel that satisfied your appetite? Extra crunchy or that thin Southern crisp? Seasoned just the way you want it. Then we have the hearty chicken noodle soup. Remember those cold winters when there was nothing more satisfying than some warm chicken noodle soup? Now that is comfort. Maybe it is hard to imagine how good it is in the hot days of summer, but is there a better homemade soup?

Check out the new re-seeded bracket: UCCFS Bracket

Round 1: #5 Ice Cream vs #12 Fruit Salad

  • #5 Ice Cream (50%, 10 Votes)
  • #12 Fruit Salad (50%, 10 Votes)

Total Voters: 20

I only grew up with Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup, so you can probably guess that I don’t think too highly of the stuff. And against good ol’, homemade fried chicken? Puh-lease. No contest.

My Grandmother used to make some amazing soups. Her chicken noodle was superior to most, but her cabbage soup was spicy and addicting to the point where you didn’t care about the diuretic properties of cabbage, all you wanted was more. :toilet: Boy I miss that soup.
