UCCFS: Meatballs & Spaghetti vs Italian Hero

This is another classic Italian food battle between two favorites. Earlier Lasagna took out Chicken Parm, so does that meat that another pasta dish can take it to another round? Who doesn’t love meatballs and spaghetti? It is so great of a dish that started when we were kids and has only grown on us as adults. I don’t remember any kind of Italian Hero listed on the kids menu at any Italian restaurant I have been too. Not that there are too many kids menus these days, but you know that you all have seen spaghetti and meatballs listed in plenty of kids menus, right?

Even with the classic meatballs and spaghetti being a tough beat, anyone that has had a real Italian hero sandwich, (and not one from any sandwich chain like Quizno’s or Subway), can tell you that it is one of the best sandwiches that one can experience when looking for food for comfort. Adding hot peppers to this sandwich then creates that leap to chilehead comfort food, whilst red pepper seeds is the standard with Italian dishes like meatballs and spaghetti.
