UCCFS: Mac ‘n Cheese vs Tuna Casserole Round 1

This is the last of the 3 seed vs 14 seed matchups with Mac ‘n Cheese being a strong contender. There hasn’t been much of a contest with any of the other 14 seeds as we have some absolute domination by all the 3 seeds. Chili shutdown Clam Chowder completely, Spaghetti & Meatballs only had 2 votes against it, and Grilled Cheese was too strong for Jambalaya. So will Mac ‘n Cheese follow it’s cheesy cousin with another crushing victory? As good as Tuna Casserole can be, Mac ‘n Cheese has always been the type of food Chileheads love to add hot sauce with.

If you have a comfort food memory, recipe or story you would love to share about either one of these food favorites please share it with us.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Tuna Casserole? Isn’t that the type of dish you scare off little kids with? 😛

Tuna Casserole!! All the goodness of saucy noodles with the protein-packed flavor of tuna.
Saute some celery and onions, toss in the tuna with some curry (yes!), black pepper and garlic powder. (The heat brings out the tuna flavor)
Add a can of cream of chicken or mushroom soup, half a can or so of milk, then combine in casserole dish with al dente flat noodles. Top with breadcrumbs or crushed potato chips. bake at 375 til bubbly and brown, and you’re good to go. (Add peas if you like, or serve them on the side). Oh, and hot sauce, of course….

I could eat this 3 times a week! At least …

I’m with Marilyn. Love tuna casserole! Just made some the other night. It’s a perfect fall/winter warm you up dinner.
