UCCFS Tomato Soup vs Pancakes Round 1

I do not have one clue how this match up will go because these 2 comfort foods are so different. The 7 seed tomato soup is not a comfort food that really is too interchangeable with food. It is what it is. My favorite is a basil tomato blend with some nice Italian flavors. On the other side, pancakes is a breakfast favorite that is the namesake home of one of the biggest chains in the US, IHOP. The International House of Pancakes is found not just in the US but throughout Canada, Mexico, and Guatemala, hence the International part. Not too important to this challenge, but a little fact I wanted to share with you all. Pancakes are traditionally had with maple syrup and butter, but that standard has changed quite a bit. Unlike the tomato soup, pancakes can be had with meat, fruit, whipped toppings, sweet toppings, nuts, ice cream and a myriad of other creative things. You can even roll them up for fun. Tomato soup can be, well, put in a thermos I guess. It is what it is. Can the best tomato soup beat the best in pancakes? Without toppings, syrup or any other creative add-on can pancakes stand alone? You determine how you want to judge this round. Please share with us any recipes, stories or reasons behind your vote.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

I could eat tomato soup anytime. Pancakes…ehh..now and then I’ll eat a stack. They have to have butter and grape jelly on em though!

I love the Cinnabon pancakes at IHOP. We have a supermarket chain called Safeway that makes the best Tomato & Basil Bisque.
