The Lenny Awards for Best Spicy Products of 2011
Watch the video and find out the ILoveItSpicy selections of the best products of 2011. Some of these products might have been out before 2011, but it is not the standard for this contest. We chose based on our new experiences over the course of 2011 within the Fiery Food industry. We might have some products we reviewed, some that were recommended to us or we simply found at various hot product events or farmer’s markets. We can’t possibly taste everything and can’t vote on every product we like. These best products are simply the most addictive of the lot and desire our praise.
The Lenny Award is dedicated to my Dad who passed away a year ago today. As I state on the video, I do not wish to mourn his death, but instead celebrate his life. He was a caring man, and shared his heart with friends, family and strangers wherever he went. While we all have flaws, and he is no exception, the root of his soul was a heart bigger than most people. He did not hesitate to ever help someone whether he knew them or not. It was commonplace to see him pull over to the side of the road to help someone in distress even with his whole family in the car. He taught me the pleasure of giving and helping others, and I have tried my best to live up to his standards. This Lenny Award is part of me paying it forward to a great community of people with spicy products that might never get shelf life in your hometown store or supermarket. I honor these great products while honoring my Dad, Leonard Goldenberg. Congratulations to the best of 2011. I hope those of you that love to try spicy things will consider these products in your future purchases.

Thanks Al! Glad you like the BBQ Rub.
Did I miss it? What exactly did Wicked Cactus win for?
Ghost of the Samurai
It is well deserved Kirk.
Honeyblaze needs to come out with a smaller bottle for it’s HOT version, and I would stock it all the time. A gallon is too much for me to store.
I meant what category. I re-watched it and caught it the second time around. ๐
Thanks Al and The Fire Dawgs, it is an honor to win. there were a lot of quality salsa’s they reviewed this year.
All the best…Gringo Bob.

I totally agree on Jeff’s Chile Spot products and Chip’s Red Lion products – both rock. Congrats to them both.
Hey Yall,
So i was trying to keep it under wraps, but because you chileheads have been sooo good to HoneyBlaze this year I will break the news here. Our deput of Medium & Hot to the consumer will be at The Fiery Food Challenge 2012.
Here’s a preview

Awesome! :_bananadance:
Congrats to all those winners out there, Look forward to trying some of those great products soon.
Thank You so much for the Award; It is such a pleasure to be able to make a prodcut and have it recognized by you. I hope to come up with a Salsa next.
Your very welcome Roe. Thank you for stopping by. When your salsa is ready send it to our Fire Dawg team for review. They will give you honest feedback. In the meantime, keep making that awesome pasta sauce.
Thanks for the great honor Buddah! I know you try just about everything that comes out each year, so having you number us as one of your favorites for 2011 is fantastic. Happy holidays to everyone in the Chilihead Community!
You are very welcome Mike. You and Chris did a great product line this year. Keep it up.
Al I went shopping after watching this video. I know your not a seasoning rub kind of guy but hope you review more of them in 2012. I just recently tried seasonings from Johnny (Heartbreaking Dawns) and Tracy (Jacs Tailgaters). Will tell you I love sauces but now want to try more seasonings and rubs. Traci’s “Fling On” and “Steak seasoning” are great. From Johnny “Memphis Belle” and “7 Pod Bayou Black” are my faves.
But also like his Cajun Blend and Jerk blend too. And I like using Clements Voodoo Ash as well. Now I have ordered Albukiry and recently 3 of Xerachs rubs as well. My spice cabinet is getting full! Funny thing is I have not grilled with any of these yet. I have just sprinkled them on foods. Just found out that Johnny is out out 7 Pod Bayou Black. He only made a limited amount. Well I hope he makes more because I want more! Was going to give some away but not now! :_redpepper:
I would love to do more rub and seasoning reviews, but we do not get too many. If you like them you should be watching the whole line of Pirate Jonny’s rubs and seasonings since the reviews are getting better and better each week. Fiber Joe is in love with them, and he is a big rub and seasoning guy. Check out yesterday’s review.
Wait ’till you see what I picked for best seasoning(s) of the year… ๐
Cant wait to here your picks Scott when will they be posted?
I’m recording the video tonight or tomorrow.
Thanks for the nice words Buddah!
Ed
My pleasure Ed. If you products were not worthy, you not be receiving the praise, not to mention the Lenny awards. Awesome products, and I hope you entered them in more awards.
Hey Buddah,
Happy New Year!
I was excited to get the news about winning a 2011 Lenny. Thanks for your support and the support of all those chileheads out there new to my Caribbean Jerk Sauce Marinades.
You honor Leonard Goldenberg well, he would be proud!
Terry
Thanks!
Terry
Terry, thanks for your kind words. I was very happy to give you a Lenny. They will be in the mail sooner than later. I have a lot to get done before they go out.
