New Record Holder- The Moruga Scorpion Pepper
New record holder, the Moruga Scorpion with seed grower Jim Duffy at the New Mexico Pepper Chile Pepper Institute Conference. I received these pics in my inbox this morning, but no official word has yet been released. Notice the Moruga has exceeded the 2 million scoville rating. Wow, Firehead Thomas and I ate one of those!
Congrats Jim Duffy. Will this be the new Jimmy D Moruga Scorpion?
It has been released to the Leadership Council and the conference attendees. A press release will be sent out after the conclusion of the conference. This is exciting news! These numbers were the result of replicated trials of the listed super-hots.
I ate one of those…it hurt.
I will be reposting our videos tomorrow. Don’t watch it if you want to avoid flashbacks.
:splode:
I am VERY proud to say that I have eaten one of these from Jim. Oh man, I truly felt it in my stomach fourteen hours later. No exaggeration. See for yourself: http://www.hotsaucehoncho.com/2011/11/derrick-eats-another-superhot-from_14.html
Yes, I still have the original seed pack I received back in late 2006 with the Trinidad Scorpion Morouga Blend seeds. Worked long and hard to get them! I was told they were very special. Looks like my contact knew their stuff.
Finally, Jim gets this well deserved recognition that has been long coming. Way to go Jim! Congratulations!!!!
Congrats! I would love to see his breeding methodology and growing environmental factors.
Hey Gang! We have them now at a decent price. The Moruga seeds are now harvested, packed and ready to ship. It is a cool pepper to grow with it’s bumpy texture adn gruity/citrus (soem say cinnamon) type of taste and smell. http://www.pepperjoe.com/shoppingcart/html/pepper.html
Fiery Regards,
