UCCFS Fiery Four: Pizza (1) vs Tacos(2)

The Fiery Four of the Ultimate Chilehead Comfort Food Showdown is winding down, and we have the second and last of this round to determine who will meet in the Finals. Yesterday’s vote between Chicken Wings vs Ribs has still 1 day left on it, so plenty of time to get your vote in before the window closes. In this battle we have Italian vs Mexican, and while the history of these foods are ethnic, the variations of them are not. I have had many different, and sometimes weird versions of both. How does Kielbasa and Kraut pizza? Don’t mock it, it was freakin’ awesome. What about Cow Tongue Tacos? Yup, true. I had it a long time ago, and I don’t even remember where I got them. My memory tells me that although I did not spit it out, it wasn’t the greatest creation I ever had either. Basically what I am saying, here in America we stretch the imagination on what we can make and blank canvases like pizza dough and taco shells, you can make a masterpiece that is not the atypical pizza and/or taco.

This is going to a great battle with 2 diverse comfort foods. What do you think? Please share your thoughts on this battle. The Finals will kick off this weekend on Saturday Morning and go through to Monday at noon when a winner will be announced shortly after.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Both of these gives me the warm fuzzies, but I think pizza wins out.

Is this a vote for the fried U-boat tacos or the real thing?

Such a tough vote. Pizza is so versatile. But given the choice, I’d take Tacos…easily. LOVE tacos. I can eat these all day and night.

If it’s a New York style pizza, no question, but since they’re hard to find here, I’m gonna have to go with TACOS!! Made ’em last night, and they were outstanding!

I’ve been voting on some of the challenges throughout this project, not all of them but definitely the ones I really felt strongly about……2 nights in a row of Pizza as a comfort food, YES! I had to jump in. I love the S#@T out of some Tacos, but I’m not calling up on a whim, waiting patiently for a delivery person in my pajamas and dusting them up with some select spices. Pizza on the other hand……C-O-M-F-O-R-T! That spells Comfort!

I think of comfort food as something I eat at home, that’s a part of the concept for me. While i prefer tacos out and about, the right pizza delivered to the house tops it in the comfort zone. And Buddah, as a fun loving Long Island Hebrew, I’d be dissapointed if you chose tacos over pizza! HA…
….and yes TG, I do wear pajamas….well just the pants part.

Dominos, PHut, the usual suspects. There are a few really good restaurants that have great NY style pizzas, but I can’t get B to go with me. He’s not a fan of NY style, sadly.
