Johnny McLaughlin’s Chilehead Karaoke Rockaria Party 2012

I am not sure anyone has ever seen a grimace, frown and/or unhappy expression upon Heartbreaking Dawns’ Johnny McLaughlin’s face. At least not in public settings. He brings joy and an enthusiasm unrivaled in our chile community. Hang around him and you will be infected by his smile and charm. Johnny decided to bring out the smiles this whole weekend, but it was his karaoke idea that became one of the most anticipated events of the weekend at Peppers at the Beach Tailgate Party. I have assembled video footage of the event from the various chileheads that performed. I will apologize for some of the segments being cutoff too early or the shakiness of the video at times. My tripod broke prior to the event and it was not the easiest thing to keep steady.

You will see a lot of people, some more than others, and I am sorry if I missed a particular performance but I had to make sure I got as many different people singing as I could. I did unfortunately miss Scott Roberts and CaJohn’s performances as they came much later in the night and I was “occupied” at that time. I would give anything to have had that opportunity again, but I am sure they are happy that I did miss them.

I would like to thank Johnny for setting this whole thing up, plus Chile Pepper Magazine and Ken Alexander and his Fiery World for their generous prize contributions. We also have a big thank you to Whiskey Beach BBQ Saloon for allowing us to come and embarrass ourselves. Last but not least our hosts for this weekend, Peppers’ Chip and Luther Hearn went the extra mile to make everyone feel like they were part of their family. I personally am extremely grateful for their hospitality they extended me. Thank you and the entire Peppers team so very much! It was fun x 1,000.
