You can do it, Buddah. I know you love it hot and spicy, and I’m happy to help. I have recipes of all types on my site, but I focus on healthier, lower calorie spicy recipes in my personal life. I’m with you, man! Let me know if you need ideas for keeping it both healthy AND spicy.

While you are usually comfortable in the spotlight, I commend you for putting yourself out there so vulnerably. Many of us have been through the same thing as you and completely understand. It’s incredibly brave starting this with 3 shows ahead of you, but you have to start somewhere and some time. This is it for you. Good luck!

I am so very proud of you and you are definitely inspiring me to get on it too! Alex and I talk all the time about getting healthier and getting into shape and it is so easy to just let the time keep slipping by… good for you for putting yourself out there and holding us all, as well as yourself, accountable! Hugs!!! You can do it!

Linda, I think I needed to be vulnerable so people that know me can keep me in check. It is embarrassing, and even more so if I fail.

There will be some good food in Nawlins, it is just about portion control while I am there. Drago’s without the sopping bread technique for example. Thanks Ken.

I know a fellow I smoke cigars with that has lost a shitload of weight over the past 7-8 months. He is on some sort of dietary weight loss system. I’ll share his page with you on Facebook.

Hello! I am hudd’s friend. I am a certified health coach and I have a clinically proven program that helps you lose 2-5 pounds a week the 1st 2 weeks and then 1-2 pounds a week thereafter. I lost 118 pounds and I have kept it off because the program teaches you how to keep the weight off. My number is 513-319-0271 if you would like more information, or you can e-mail me at

I came to a new self-realization this year. My father had his first heart attack at 42 years old. I decided to make a change. I have lost 30-40 Lbs. so far. There are many fad diets and products designed to separate those in need of a change from their hard-earned money. In the end, the only secret is to consume less than we expend. Slow and steady wins the race. I wish for you, my friend, great success, health, and personal happiness! I am pulling for you.

You are making a really hard life-changing decision and I really admire you for it! I’m really glad you made this public because I’m going to join you in your effort. I lost weight a couple years ago and put some of the weight back on. You have inspired me to get back with the healthy program! Thanks, Al.

You can do it Al, but also go and get the band adjusted. Even though its been so long, you can start over with it. I am holding steady at 250 with mine. I havent lost any more, but I havent gained either.

We’re all behind you Buddah! You can do this! Giving up soda is a huge help, even the artifically sweetened varieties aren’t good for you. Drink lots and lots of water, toss a lime or lemon slice in it to improve its taste and health benefits. It also helps to limit the white foods in your diet. That would be pasta, bread, potatoes, anything white. The best diet I’ve ever been on and the one I try to stick closest to is the paleo diet. Basically eating fresh, non processed foods. Lots of veggies, a little fruit, nuts, and around 4oz of protein each meal. Think about the diet of a caveman, what they would have available to them. You can smother those veggies and meat with hotsauce, check to make sure its non sweetened, there are plenty out there.
I fell off the eating healthy and working out bandwagon too because of depression and a foot injury, I know it happens, but I’m trying to climb back on the wagon myself.
