Columbus, OH Fiery Food Festival 2016

Bluestone-Columbus-Ohio

John “CaJohn” Hard has given me the exclusive announcement just now that the North Market Fiery Food Festival from years past has now changed it’s name and the venue and looks like it is now back and bigger than ever. It was the thing to do each and every year on President’s Day Weekend until the new management at the North Market decided that it was not important enough and rented out the top floor of the Market for the next 3 years. So after missing out this past year it was a blow to the faithful vendors and chileheads who made it to the event. When CaJohn inquired about the availability of such a premium venue and downtown Columbus location as the Bluestone, (which is an old church that has turned itself into a place to hold concerts), the promoters at the Bluestone jumped at the opportunity to host it. ILoveItSpicy is the first official sponsor of the new reinvigorated Columbus Festival at the Bluestone and we are very proud to have been asked to be a part of it as we have been in past North Market Festivals. Thank you CaJohn for the honor.

So now, please get your cell phone and PC calendars updated for President’s Day Weekend in Columbus. February 13-14, 2016 is the dates now. Anyone else looking forward to having the Festival back as well as the Fiery Asian Dinner? For more information and available vendor spots, please contact CaJohn, but you better do it tomorrow because the celebration has begun with some new tasty Scorpion Beer!

CA Expo t-shirt design resized

Building on the 3-year success of the NYC Hot Sauce Expo, Steve Seabury of High River Sauces is taking his show to the west coast on July 11-12, 2015. Located in Long Beach, CA at the beautiful and scenic Rainbow Lagoon Park, the inaugural event will test the elusive California Chilehead to see if this type of extravaganza is right for them. You can see by the map below how close it is to the beach. Which might be a good stop after Puckerbutt’s Guinness Book of World Records Smokin’ Ed’s Carolina Reaper Challenge. More information below about that along with the entire schedule of events. There will be some interesting eating competitions here that include Ramen Noodles, Footlong Hot Dogs, Spicy Tacos, Spicy Burritos and it seems someone also wants to bring our Pizza Eating Contest west coast too. I hope they will do us proud since we were the innovators.

Hey Chilehead, Do you like hot sauce?

iBurn 2014 Holiday purchase

I mean, do you really like hot sauce. Are the kind of Chilehead that buys it or makes your own. Perhaps both. Me? Well, I enjoy tasting the creations of others. I have been lucky over the years to have attending many shows and have brought home so many wonderful tasty spicy things. Most people can’t do that. Most Chileheads I am afraid have only their local supermarket and/or grocer to satisfy their thirst for fiery fun. They can not travel to spicy food shows and do not have one close enough to their home to ride to and back. So unless they are satisfied with Frank’s, Tabasco, Louisiana hot sauces, Cholula, etc, they live the life not knowing how many craftsmen and women have creating flavors with heat that would blow their chile pepper loving mind. It is really a shame.

So again I ask, but more specifically, do you like hot sauce enough to spend a little extra for something original and delicious? If it is no, then no reason to read on. I will just bore you more than I usually do with my endless rants about supporting your Mom & Pop Shoppe hot sauce makers. Yet, if you answered yes to my question. You must read on because the chilehead community is about to take a huge blow to these Mom & Pop Shoppe businesses and you might just be the last hope on this planet to let the flame keep on burning. Now, let me get to more specifics before I dive right into what I am alluding to. If I could get you the convenience of a hot sauce store in your neighborhood, the benefit of going to a fiery festival without the cost of admission and have it all delivered to your porch without any extra cost to you, would you be interested? Come on Buddah, stop with your questions and get to your point. Wait folks there is more…
