THE Chile Pepper Awards 2016
Welcome to YESvember!
This month definitely needs a new name. It is such a negative to say NOvember. So for the rest of this column we are only going to refer this month in the positive and rename it as YESvember. Hey, it is such a great month with the beautiful colors of Autumn spreading across our great land. It is also a great foodie month with Thanksgiving bringing such great traditional dishes, and a chance for the Chilehead in all of us to spice up some of the dishes. Well, most families would object, but if you have a good turkey-enhancing table sauce or two, then you can still put the THANKS in Thanksgiving.

2014 Chile Pepper Awards
The list for the winners was a copy and paste from what was posted on Facebook. Chile Pepper Magazine was nice enough to send me the results, but in a format I could not use, so I did what I could do to present you with the list of winners. Please forgive me for any spelling mistakes. If you need to have me correct anything, email me at

with your corrections, and I will get to it as soon as I can. Congrats to all the companies that won or placed in these prestigious awards. Keep up the good and spicy work folks!
After Show Diary – 2012 Houston
I had originally planned on staying back to back weekends on my trip. The NOLA show was cancelled, rescheduled and renamed the “Chile Pepper Extravaganza” for next year. The idea of having back to back spicy shows that were only 5-6 hours apart made me excited and I planned a weeks vacation around it. I decided to stay an extra night here in Houston because Rick & Marna McMillan of Chile Pepper Magazine hosted a little gathering of folks at their house for Monday.

There are so many things happening at this show, and I will create a diary for you of everything that goes on and try to bring you the information first hand from my point of view. It might not be the most timely of updates, but I will cover it to the max as I experience it and bring it back to you here. I am heavy involved in the show with our 1st salsa contest, info below. I plan on taking on all challenges for the Intensity Academy Lick-a-thon. Yes, Vic and I will once again lock lollies in this very extreme heated battle. I will have a very special challenge to offer all the contestants prior to the event. No one knows about this, not even Intensity Academy, so stay tuned for more about this. I will also be visiting all the vendors and getting some pics of their booths and show off some show swag at the same time. It is going to be a blast, and I am so siked about going. Check out all the fun and all the attending vendors below.
