REVIEW: The Jerky Connection – Teriyaki Habanero Beef Jerky

I am not too fond of jerky reviews because I am not allowed to eat any jerky because of my stomach surgery. So watching these videos and seeing the jerky makes me so so sad. It is torture I tell ya! Plus now I am on a low carb diet, and beef jerky would be something I could normally eat on such a diet. Double sadness for me. Beyond all my personal woes, I am happy to present some very happenin’ jerky. I love the names of The Jerky Connection products. We have 5 of their products to review, and while some like this Teriyaki Habanero beef jerky have normal names, you got to get a load of their other products on their website. Such hits as Louisiana Road Kill, Santa’s Flaming Sleigh Ride, Satan’s Flaming Hemorrhoids, and 7 Gates of Hell to name a few of my favorites. The 4 other beef jerky flavors in the order that we will be doing them in over the next 4 weeks is Insanity, Hillbilly Hangover, World Destruction and lastly we finish off with The Reaper.

REVIEW: Sweet Heat Gourmet – Pineapple & Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce

Pineapple & Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce

We are here to build on the first review of Sweet Heat Gourmet’s Sinclair’s Fatalii which garnered pretty solid ratings from our review team. You can check it our HERE if interested. If anyone knows my hot sauce tendencies it is towards pineapple spicy things. I love pineapple, and when you can create something spicy with it, it is a home run for me. Of course it has to taste good too. Pineapple hot sauce is very hard because the flavor of the pineapple changes quite a bit when you cook it in the bottling process. Since Sweet Heat Gourmet will be at the Bowers Chile Festival in September, a show I will be attending once again, I am hoping that their hot sauce will be something to look forward to. Let us see what our astute reviewing panel thinks of it. Our team for these reviews are Dale Gilbert, Don Lava, and Revtommy2tone & his partner in spicy crime, Rick Averyt.

REVIEW: Sweet Heat Gourmet – Sinclair’s Fatalii

Sinclair's Fatalii Hot Sauce

We have 3 products to review for this Central Pennsylvania sauce company, and upon doing this first review I got a bit of an education. I thought the good people of Sweet Heat Gourmet got the spelling wrong for their fatalii pepper hot sauce. I was under the impression that this chile pepper was correctly spelled thusly as fatali. In my search, I found no such spelling on wikipedia, only under fatalii. Yet, there is spellings for both throughout the world, and who am I to argue with which way is correct. Much like chile, chili, and/or chilli pepper is spelt all 3 ways, I even found spellings for this pepper as faatali and fatalli. Each day of our lives is a new lesson. School is over, now let us get to our review.

Our review team consists of Texas boy Don Lava, Tennessee’s own, Dale Gilbert and the boys from Bama, RevTommy2tone & his pepper partner Rick Averyt. Next week we will be reviewing Sweet Heat Gourmet’s Pineapple & Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce and finish up with their Moruga Hot Sauce the week after that. Before we get to this review, let us learn a little about Sweet Heat Gourmet as told by their creator, Micelle “Shellie” Mierwald…

REVIEW: Ricante Hot Sauce & Cevicheria – Og Mango Caliente

Ricante Hot Sauce

We have reviewed a whole lot of international sauces over the last 3 1/2 years of ILoveItSpicy, but this might be the first from Costa Rica that I can recall. Ricky Ricante, creator of Ricante Hot Sauce reached out to me several months back to get a review done for his company because they were now setup for distribution her in the United States. He sent us his first of four creations for review, and after a longer period of time than we would have liked, the reviews are now up and ready to be viewed by our loyal fans. For this review we have Dale Gilbert from Tennessee, Don Lava from Texas and J-Bru from New Jersey. Before we get to their reviews, let us learn a little about Ricante Hot Sauce from the owner himself.

REVIEW: Buffalo Tom’s Gourmet Hot Sauce

Buffalo Tom's Gourmet Hot Sauce

One would get the first impression that any hot sauce with the name Buffalo on the label would be a buffalo wing sauce. Especially with the name Buffalo Tom, who originally hails from Buffalo, NY. Plus you add in the fact that they own the domain name Now all that aside, they name of this product is Buffalo Tom’s Gourmet Hot Sauce, not wing sauce. Sure it says it is good on wings, but the label also says it is good on pizza and pasta too. I hope you are following me so far. I want you to read “Buffalo Tom’s History” below and see what he has to say about his product. I copied and pasted it here right from their website. I did change a little, specifically that Buffalo Tom now includes FREE SHIPPING on all orders of 2, 4 or 6 bottles of their gourmet hot sauce. The more you buy, the cheaper the cost per bottle will ultimately be.

REVIEW: Henry Family Farms – Yellow Fatali African Habanero Varietal Chile Extract

Yellow Fatalli African Habanero

Before you go on about what an extract means to you, you better think twice about this product. Brought to you from journalist, television personality, and cookbook author, David Rosengarten. You can read a little more about him below in the “A Little About” section. Lets just say he knows a little about food and flavor. His take on what an extract is would be completely different than what we think it is in our chile community. Chile Extract in our world is pure capsaicin, pure heat of the pepper. What this sauce and the other chile extract sauce we will be reviewing next week are chile pepper purees with some little extra flavor to bring out the individual pepper notes. You might be surprised by what our reviewers think about these sauces.

REVIEW: Palmetto Pepper Potions – Larynx Lava & Molten Golden

Larynx LavaMolten Golden

I am combining the last 2 reviews with Palmetto Pepper Potions as they are both solo reviews. I have never been a fan of solo reviews for one reason, and that is if the reviewer doesn’t like the product then there is no other voice we can turn to other than the maker who is trying to defend their product. I trust my reviewers, I just like the support system the multiple review has built in. With that said, the last 2 reviews we did for Palmetto Pepper Potions had 2 reviewers attached to them. In the first review we had Dale Gilbert and Derrick Wood reviewing the Daily Red. Then in review #2 we turned to Jacob Robertson and Dale Gilbert for their Trenholm Venom. For these reviews we have Derrick Wood reviewing the Larynx Lava and Jacob Robertson with their Molten Golden.

REVIEW: Pretzelphoria – Holy Holy Cow!!!!! Habanero Hot Pops

Pretzelphoria Holy Holy Cow Habanero Hot Pops

At a local event here in Northern Virginia just a few miles away from my home I found this spicy pretzel snack. They had a whole line of different flavored products and they were happy to let you sample anything you wanted. So of course I had to try these small pretzel balls. Just one ball and I could feel a little heat. That surprised me to tell you the truth, but not as much as I was surprised when I got home to open the bag and see how fast I stopped eating them because they were really lighting me up. I soon reached out to them and setup this review to see if it was a fluke heat thing or it was me. I brought in Steve “The Machine” Smallwood who knows much about what is hot. I wasn’t sure he would even feel much burn, but it was a true test at any rate. Then I added Dale Gilbert and Revtommy2tone & Crimsonsteel to the team. The Good Reverend and Crimsonsteel did the review during his live weekly radio show.

REVIEW: Palmetto Pepper Potions – Trenholm Venom hot sauce

Trenholm Venom

This is our 2nd of 4 product reviews for Palmetto Pepper Potions. The first review was for their Daily Red hot sauce which was reviewed by Dale Gilbert and Derrick Wood and can be seen HERE. This review we have Dale again and his cohort is Jacob Robertson.
A little about this sauce as taken from their website:

REVIEW: Palmetto Pepper Potions – Daily Red hot sauce

This is not going to be like our usual 3 person reviews, although we have 3 reviewers setup for the Palmetto Potions’ reviews. We have 4 of the Palmetto Pepper Potions that were sent out to us from Reid Edgar of who sells their products. He wanted people new to the world of hot sauce to hear about a multiple award winning company dating back to 2005. Not a long time for most of us, but since the love of fiery foods has grown by leaps and bounds in popularity over the last few years Reid thought it would be a good idea to re-introduce people to Palmetto Pepper Potions. Creators Mark and Julie Riffle have earned 12 international awards in the world’s top fiery foods competitions in both the Golden Chile and Scovie awards. What makes this review different is that we spread out the 4 potions if you will to 3 of our reviewers. Daily Red in this review will be done by Derrick Wood and Dale Gilbert. In the next one, Trenholm Venom, we have Jacob Robertson and again with Dale Gilbert. The 3rd and 4th review we have Derrick with the Larynx Lave and Jacob with the Molten Golden. Why only one? Well, these are their 2 big award winners and I think confidence in these two sauces was high enough to go with just the 1 reviewer. Not the way we usually do things, but I didn’t make that call, so hopefully our review team with live up to their confidence. Before we get to the review, let us tell you a little about these potion makers.

REVIEW: Demitri’s Bloody Mary Seasonings – Chilies & Peppers

We are back with another Bloody Mary review for Demitri’s. Sorry we did not deliver as promised with a 2 week intermission since the last review. Yet, I think with the holidays fast approaching, what better to celebrate or give a gift than one of the best Bloody Mary mixes we have ever reviewed. You will see how much Fiber Joe and Dale loved this by their reviews as they went way past the Bloody Mary drink to sample this stuff using the recipes provided. Derrick didn’t care for this particular seasoning, but that is why we do multiple person reviews folks, to get a lot of feedback because everyone has different tastes. Please check the reviews out if you are a Bloody Mary fan, you will not be disappointed.

REVIEW: Demitri’s Bloody Mary Seasonings – Classic Recipe

I love when we do different types of spicy products with our reviewers. Since is that type of product, and by the sound of the reviews this company might be the next great thing in Bloody Mary Mixes. Besides this Bloody Mary mix, we have 4 others that we will be posting over the next few weeks – Extra Horseradish, Chilies & Peppers, and Chipotle-Habanero. Along with that you will hear a little about their 2 rim salts they call “Rim Shots”, one with Bacon and the other with a spiced blend to accent the Bloody Mary mixes. I gave the reviewers some freedom in how they wish to review the Rim Shots, so you will get some feedback as we go with how they work with the Demitri’s Bloody Mary Seasonings.

Dale Gilbert Re-reviews Tropical Spices’ Calypso Sauce

When a company believes enough in it’s product it will go out of it’s way to prove itself. A few months back Tropical Spices, LLC did reviews with us. The one review that stuck in their craw was one by Dale Gilbert for their Calypso hot sauce. It got rave reviews from everyone that has ever tried it including our other 2 reviewers Zzombie and his son Big Daddy B as well as Bishop Brad. Their reviews netted a 4 1/2 and a 4 flaming heart review, respectively (CLICK HERE to see them).
