REVIEW: Buffalo Tom’s Gourmet Hot Sauce

Buffalo Tom's Gourmet Hot Sauce

One would get the first impression that any hot sauce with the name Buffalo on the label would be a buffalo wing sauce. Especially with the name Buffalo Tom, who originally hails from Buffalo, NY. Plus you add in the fact that they own the domain name Now all that aside, they name of this product is Buffalo Tom’s Gourmet Hot Sauce, not wing sauce. Sure it says it is good on wings, but the label also says it is good on pizza and pasta too. I hope you are following me so far. I want you to read “Buffalo Tom’s History” below and see what he has to say about his product. I copied and pasted it here right from their website. I did change a little, specifically that Buffalo Tom now includes FREE SHIPPING on all orders of 2, 4 or 6 bottles of their gourmet hot sauce. The more you buy, the cheaper the cost per bottle will ultimately be.

REVIEW: Xerarch’s Very Verde Green Sauce

Xerarch's Very Verde Green Sauce

Art “Xero” Weingaertner has been working with me in doing spicy product rules for a lot longer than ILoveItSpicy has existed. We have met a few times at the Fiery Food Show, and I consider him one of my Chilehead brothers. As a review, Xero knew I had one rule in regards to a product maker doing reviews with me, and that if they made it, they wouldn’t be reviewing it. So as a salsa and spice maker, I would never give Xero 1 review associated with these type of products. He knew that if he ever decided to throw his hat into the hot sauce arena, he would be very limited to ILoveItSpicy as a reviewer. Now with this new Very Verde Green Sauce, Xero will no longer be doing many reviews with ILIS from this point forward. While it is sad to limit him to just our snack and spicy BBQ sauce reviews, I am happy that he is living his dream and not looking back. Xerarch’s Nice N Hot Salsa was named Best Salsa in New Mexico by New Mexico Magazine in 2010, and I listed it as one of my favorite salsas of all time. So I have high hopes for Xerarch’s new hot sauce.

REVIEW: Gator Ron’s Zesty Sauces & Mixes – Chesapeake Divine Bloody Mary Mix

Chesapeake Divine Bloody Mary Mix

We are back with our 3rd of 4 reviews for Gator Ron’s Zesty Sauces & Mixes. If you have not followed these reviews thus far, the heartfelt story behind the company is worth reading about. “Gator” Ron Griffith passed away back in 2011 from his fight with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Constance, Ron’s wife took up the baton and carried out Gator Ron’s dream and their company was established. With a lasting legacy, a percentage of all sales of Gator Ron’s Zesty Sauces & Mixes will be donated to the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins. By all accounts, so far after 3 reviews, it looks like Gator Ron’s has some goods worth trying. Give them a try and at the same time you will be helping in the fight to find the cure for ALS.

REVIEW: Gator Ron’s Zesty Sauces & Mixes – Original Divine Bloody Mary Mix

Original Divine Bloody Mary Mix

We are back with another Gator Ron review. Last week we reviewed their Chipotle Heavenly BBQ Sauce which you can view HERE or HERE if you would like. If you pick right the 1st time, you might win so much karma you will not know what to do with it. The good kind of course. We do not give away the bad kind here at I Love It Spicy. At any rate, the BBQ Sauce had positive scores across the board from our review squad consisting of Fiber Joe, newbie Don Lava and Ken Alexander. Fiber Joe as he has done with past Bloody Mary Mix reviews consults with the Missus, since she is the expert when it comes to the tasty beverage, and he uses the mix in his ceviche creation.

REVIEW: Gator Ron’s Zesty Sauces & Mixes- Chipotle Heavenly BBQ Sauce

Gator Ron's Chipotle Heavenly BBQ

This is a tale of a sad story with a happy ending. A case of a woman chasing the dream for her husband after he passed away before fulfilling it. With his name on the company and the drive to help others in the wake of Gator Ron’s unfortunate demise, his wife Connie took the reins and is moving full steam ahead. You can read more below in our company background spotlight, and see how you can help out with your support for such a great cause. I missed meeting Connie at the DC Metropolitan Entertaining & Food Show back in November, but I was able to make enough of an impression to get some interest back via email from the good people at Gator Ron’s. Through that we setup a review of 4 of their products – this Chipotle BBQ sauce, 2 Bloody Mary Mixes (Original & Chesapeake), and finish with their Original Wing Sauce. For this review we have our team of Ken Alexander, Fiber Joe and our newest reviewer, the man they call Don Lava with his first review for ILIS.

REVIEW: Big Red’s God Wrath Ghost Pepper Sauce

This is our 3rd and last review for Big Red’s Hot Sauces. This Arizona hot sauce company uses the habanero flavor as their main ingredient in all their sauces, and in this ghost pepper version it still is prominent, but the ghost pepper is used to raise the heat level. The reviews for the first 2 sauces have been for the most part pretty decent save for one review. This sauce gets the best average with our review team. Please check out the other reviews and see what they have to offer.

REVIEW: Big Red’s – Smokey Habanero

This is our second out of three hot sauce reviews for Big Red’s Hot Sauce, a company out of Phoenix, Arizona. Our review team is Matt Bauhaus, Jerret Ulmer, and Ken Alexander. The first review for Big Red’s Garden Habanero received the same exact score from all 3 of our reviewers. I do not remember that ever happening before. At any rate, 3 1/2 flaming hearts out of 5 is quite respectable. Will this Smokey Habanero get the same respect? You will have to watch and find out.

REVIEW: Big Red’s Hot Sauce – Garden Habanero

We got ourselves a hot sauce out of the Phoenix, Arizona area. The south being an ever-growing mecca for hot sauce it is always nice to see what a company can deliver that is different than all the other offerings out there. Big Red’s Hot Sauce aka Seed Time & Harvest, LLC sent us 3 products for review. Besides this Garden Habanero, we also have a Smokey Habanero and God’s Wrath Ghost Pepper Sauce. They aren’t even tinkering with the weaker chiles like the jalapeno and serrano peppers. For this review we have a couple of new reviewers making their debut with us. First we have Jerret Ulmer of whose partner John will make a separate debut at a later date. Next we have Matt Bauhaus with his own chile blog Finally we have the one and only Ken Alexander with his own blog rounding out our team.

REVIEW: Heaven Made Products – Amazin MexiCajun

This is our 3rd review for Heaven Made Products. They are a low salt Cajun seasoning company that claims to be a pretty darn good if not the best Cajun Seasoning rub you can find anywhere out there. So far are reviewers are favoring these products quite well actually. The first review and the 2nd review were a slight heat difference, and the third is a hit of jalapeno rather than the cayenne in the first two to give more of a Mexican hint of flavor to mix with their Cajun blend of flavors.
