Reflections from the Fiery Foods & Bbq Show
There is so much to cover and tell you about. I have a lot of video to go through and share with you all. I am especially proud of the big surprise that I took to the show, and can not wait to post it. What is it? Well, I will give you a teaser…I hypnotized someone at the show to be able to have hot sauce without feeling any heat. Did I succeed? Well in the upcoming days you will see first hand what happened.
I also filmed some of the show and so many booths it will make your head spin. It should give you an idea at how many vendors there are and just how big this event is. We did many live reviews with several different review teams as we traveled through the show. We met some of the big names in the hot sauce industry in Blair, CaJohn and Mike Greening of Ring of Fire Hot Sauce. Scott Roberts even got to do a candid interview with Mike that should give you a great look at how a hot sauce company is born, grows and looks toward the future.
I had a ball hanging with so many of my chilehead friends like Scott, Parker, ChileheadEd, Joe Levinson of HZO, Xero, Cheffy, and Johnny and Nicole of HeartBreaking Dawns. I made two new friends in Mike aka the Hot Sauce Guru and Mark aka Mvinson from The Hot Pepper board. After spending so much time with Mike, I feel like he has been apart of the gang for a long time. He fit right in, and made me laugh like no one has in a very long time. I didn’t spend as much quality time with Mark, but he seems like a very nice guy, and we shared some stories with each other. Both of these guys I think will be a part of the scene for years to come. They had fun, and seemed to like the Chilehead Brotherhood the rest of us cherish.
We made a trip to Santa Fe to enjoy a burger at Bobcat Bites and then downtown to souvenir shop a little. The burger was pretty good. We had a lot of laughs with Joe’s homemade GPS, now to be forever referred to as the JPS. Matter-a-fact, there was a lot of laughs the whole trip. I needed this type of weekend in the worst way, and was so happy to have made such good friends, even if I do drive them crazy with my non-stop yammering.
I could go on and on with exactly every detail of the trip, but you can go to www.scottrobertsweb.com and www.thehotzoneonline.com to view our friends many pictures and their own take on what happened. I have a lot to share, but it will be via video. So stay tuned in the days ahead because there will be a lot coming.
It was a good time. I was glad to see Buddah again and was happy to meet so many new people. I was only there on Friday but it was a great time.
was great to meet you and hang out a bit – I had a blast and am already planning for the next trip – I am fully addicted now for sure
btw – the cast came off today and a removable one was put on so by then it should be easier for me to at least drink and talk at the same time
It is Nicole from Heartbreaking Dawns, Bonnie is with Cowboy George and Blaze Gourmet! How could you forget her? She made the brownies!!!
What are you talking about? I didn’t mention Bonnie. 😀 Sorry Nicole.
Congrats on the cast Mark. It was great to meet you too. It is a bit of an addiction to come and hang out with people at these gatherings. I look forward to the next one.
Good brief wrap-up, Buddah. I’ll “ditto” everything everybody has said already; it great seeing everyone again and meeting all the new folks.
My write-up on the show is about 1/3 written. I need to get a move-on before it becomes old news. 😉
