Ask James Beck/Wreck how it went for him. No way to duplicate the burger unless you know the sauce they used on it. My guess it is pure extract, and that is why everyone throws up after they attempt to eat it. If you throw up, I think people will enjoy it even more. :_bananadancing:

I for one would like to see a home attempt. Just add some of Cajohn’s Mamba to it.

The sauce is supposedly a habanero paste, they never mention extract in the Travel Channel spot…

The heat is all in the sauce. Mr. Beck/Wreck and I talked about it right after he did it. I’m not at liberty to say what kind of sauce Chunky’s used, but it is around 4 million SHU.

During my attempt (http://www.scottrobertsweb.com/Scott-Recreates-the-Four-Horsemen-Burger), I used a habanero sauce, but it was really no match for hardcore chileheads like us. When added to the beef, bun and all other ingredients, the three jolokias become really subdued.

That’s good to know, I’d hate to do a lame version of it. I wonder why Travel Channel never mentions the extract sauce???

I saw Cowgirls on the cooking channel last night talking about their spicy caramel sauce. Needless to say all I could think of was Mr Roberts. 😯

Here are a couple of pictures of Blair’s Peppers At The Beach Reserve I received today – this is #7 of 24….

OMG! That looks like an elementary art project by a 7 year old. How much was that again? (we do really need a laughing out loud smiley)

I canceled my order they were 300 bucks. There was supposed to be 13 and then 24? How did Blair come up with those particular numbers?

Cool looking but I’d be willing to bet the wax breaks off of the bottles after time.

We quit even looking to buy any of Blair’s. Why spend that kind of money..We have a 2006 holiday reserve that the wax has broken off..the “gold” skull just fell of and the bottle is leaking..I keep it in a bowl now so it doesn’t stain the cabinet..what’s that bottle worth? 😯

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think they had to make more because they gave away too many than what they had.

It originally was 13, now it is 24.

    “Gave away” at 300.00 a copy. 🙄

Blair couldn’t get the signature to stick on the cellophane so he re-did them all with different wax and signed them underneath. (According to Sandy at Peppers)

Good morning folks. Busy week, getting ready to head to NY for Father’s Day weekend, which also kicks my two week vacation. Also includes a trip to Nawlins for the NOLA Hot Sauce & Gourmet show. So much to do, so little time to do it in.

Huv, the Bayou Saturday night at 6pm. Meeting some friends would love to have you along. :_toastbeer:

It’s supposed to look “Beachy”….I have just about every Blair special reserve and haven’t had any problems, but I don’t move them around…I just look at them:) I will say, I saw the original version and liked that better than the final version….oh well – Scott, I believe you are correct, Peppers had promised so many of them, he agreed to make more once he knew the orginal 13 needed to be re-done.

I always thought horseshoes got boring after a while. I guess you introduce the beer, then suddenly the game keeps getting beter the more you play. I prefer bocce.

Speaking of horseshoes, it’s always been a dream of mine, when I grow up and buy a house with some acreage, to have a huge pig roast and a pot luck horseshoe tournament as an annual event. It would be cool to make it sort of a family/chilehead gathering…it will be in Louisiana, and I’m hoping we have a nice spot in the next year or so….

Make sure it is around next year’s NOLA event, and we can pull it off Friday before the show or Sunday after the show.
