  • October 19, 2010 at 8:15 pm

Oh :toilet: ….those look freaking amazing!

  • October 19, 2010 at 8:27 pm

Philip, I spoke with Cajohn just now to get some feedback, but he said since it is basically a Mexican pepper that isn’t used too much here, there really isn’t too many choices. He mentioned Valencia (not too sure that is the spelling). Here is another one that I tried a few years back, but I do not remember if I liked it or not. It is a popular company though, and I know Parker likes them…

The Hotacado is awesome straight from the bottle.

  • October 19, 2010 at 9:07 pm

O yeah i did try that one it was ok not that impressed with it . I did how ever love the hotacado, the problem with that hot sauce is i can use the whole bottle in one sitting ๐Ÿ™‚

Well the reason why i asked if there was any good hot sauces that use that pepper, is that is what king taco uses it for there hot sauce . To bad no one has made a good hot sauce it is a great pepper . I made a few hot sauces my self and they where great . The problem i see you need to take a lot of time to make a good sauce .

  • October 19, 2010 at 9:12 pm

Is that so? I’ll have so make a chile de arbol sauce and compare it to King Taco.

  • October 19, 2010 at 9:13 pm

Speaking of King Taco……I think I’ll hit it tomorrow. I did In-n-Out today!

  • October 19, 2010 at 9:23 pm

    U suck big time :hungry:

  • October 19, 2010 at 9:48 pm

    Thanks for sharing that Philip.

  • October 19, 2010 at 10:19 pm

Well someone thinks they found of how to recreate king taco red sauce

Maybe some vendor or someone will try making this hot sauce

The secret ingredient is “Huajes” seeds, NOT sesame seeds.
Huaje is a vine from the Huaje tree/plant…

    The recipe calls for:

1-1/4 oz dried ciles de arbol (about 50-60) DO NOT Use any other kind, i.e. Japones, guajillo, etc, etc.
1 yellow or golden onion (tennis ball size
    )1-1/2 T. huaje seeds (toasted)
    1 T shelled pumpkin seeds
    1/4 tsp cumin seeds
2 cloves (or a big pinch ground)
4 chiles chipotle (from can – NOT dried chipotle)
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp Knorr Chicken Boullion
    2 large cloves garlic
1/4 c. APPLE cider vinegar (***Make sure it’s APPLE vinegar or don’t continue)
2 tb spoon of LARD – yes lard!

    Proceed with:

In 2 cups of water, boil the chiles, garlic, and onion.

… In the meantime do the following:

    – Heat a skillet. Toast Huaje seeds (don’t burn).
    – Toast pumpkin seeds until they pop/puff up.
    – heat lard, and fast fry, both huaje, and pumpkin seeds (Do NOt Burn – about 3min max, then remove from pan)

    – Grind cumin seed, and cloves in a/mortar or spice grinder. (NOTE: powder cumin, and cloves give this salsa a different flavor)

Once you have the above ready to go… Proceed with caution… (NOTE: let the boiled chiles rest a bit or when blending, make sure you cover the top with a towel – if the mixture is hot it tend to blow out…)

    – FIRST blend the chiles, garlic, onion, and tomatoes (Just kidding no tomatoes in this recipe!!!)
    – SECOND Add to blended mix, the oregano, salt, Chicken Boullion, and blend again for about 30 seconds.
    – THIRD add huaje, and pumpkin seeds, and APPLE cider vinegar, and blend till you have a smooth consistency (Per Rick Bales; it should feel smooth when a drop is rubbed between the fingers).

Strain the sauce through a fine-meshed sieve. Stir in water if needed and pour into a stainless steel bowl.
IMPORTANT!!!!>>>cover and let stand for 24 hours before serving.

  • October 20, 2010 at 1:51 am

OK…I gotta step in here. You had a colonoscopy BECAUSE you eat shit too hot? I’ve never heard of that and I’ve had one (because I turned 50)….. did not care for it one bit.

    Where do you live Philip?

  • October 20, 2010 at 7:27 am

I had a colonoscopy for the rush man.

  • October 20, 2010 at 12:37 pm

I live in SoCa Newbury park Westlake area. Yes i know i was to young to have it done but they wanted to make sure everything was OK , and it was . My dad also had his done at 50. It was a combo of how i eat and family problems the reason why they did it . The worst part about it was drinking that crap lol

  • October 20, 2010 at 1:21 pm

Drinking that crap was the easiest part for me.

The other part was a pain in the ass. ๐Ÿ˜ก

I was just in North Hills last week…I’m in SGV.

  • October 20, 2010 at 1:22 pm

So…………I’m going to King Taco today. :_bananadance:

    Anyone want anything?

  • October 20, 2010 at 1:42 pm

I think Buddah wants you to send him some red sauce . And i just buy the rest of the hot sauce that they have in the store ๐Ÿ™‚

  • October 20, 2010 at 1:56 pm

I’ll order one taco at a time so I can get a red sauce for each one!

I’m thinking I’ll have to get at least 4! And I’ll buy a pint of sauce to go!

  • October 20, 2010 at 1:59 pm

LoL i always buy like 7 pints to go ๐Ÿ™‚ But you do live near there so your lucky . Also get the Mexican cheese on the tacos , you do have to ask for it but it also enhances the tacos if you get the cananasada

  • October 20, 2010 at 2:34 pm

You would think he would hook a brother up. He begs me for mustard I get enuff for a year. He wants a Trinidad scorpion, no problem.

Maybe tomorrow. I’ll ask for the cheese cause I like the cheese!

How long did I beg you for some mustard? a year…? Get your ass out here and I’ll take you there.
