Feast Your Eyes on This Round 2- Contestant Videos
I have a few HUGE announcements to make before the judges begin their video evaluations. First off, as you know we need to eliminate 2 of the contestants with this round. The job just got a tad easier, Jay Calvert has bowed out of the competition. We hate to lose anyone, but he is working too many hours, and can’t fit the contest into his busy schedule. I do hope that none of our other competitors will do the same, and fight for the bitter end to stay alive in this contest. Sorry we lost you Jay.
The next big announcement I think will make this contest more rewarding for our spicy chefs. We have 2 new sponsors signed on for the cooking challenge. Jim Duffy from www.superhotchiles.com is offering big prizes to the 2nd and 3rd place finishers of the contest. $100 is going to the runner up, and $50 is going to the 3rd place finisher. Awesome! Thanks Jim, and also welcome to the judging table as a permanent part of our panel. We also have a pledge from Chad Lowcock of the award winning spicy product company, Race City Sauce Works to sponsor 2 future rounds, including the upcoming 3rd round. He will give a $50 gift card to the winner of each of those rounds. More on that when Round 3 is announced. Thanks a lot Chad for that great contribution to our cooking contest. He will also be added as a guest judge for those sponsored rounds. We hope that we will be able to add other sponsors for future rounds as the contest continues.

Chileheads meet up in a cabin(s) and cook all weekend. We are looking for a new date and will let you all know when there is something to announce.
That sounds really fun! Is it any place in particular? or does it change each time? 😎
Love your gravatar by the way. I dont remember having that cereal as a child.lol
In the past it has been in the Smokey Mtns by Gatlinburg, TN, but we wanted to move it around Western PA.
Sorry I had to drop out Gents. I will be continuing to watch though and am looking forward to each round.
Best of luck to all!
Jay

Johnny is my choice! Would have loved to hear Grace Slick singing ‘White Rabbit’ in the background! Love your presence on camera and your calming ways, your smile and your culinary ideas! You rocked it! And the rabbit sounds delicious!
That said, I appreciate all the chefs endeavors and find myself very, very hungry right now for all that good cooking!
Everything Tatiana said is true – I just want to add – anyone who gets guest shot of their boxer in the video earns extra points with me.
It that Beener KeeKee, the youtube sensation that lip synchs Katy Perry?
Go Butch i am rootin for ya!!!!
ATTENTION SPICY CHEFS:
The announcement for the winner and loser of Round 2 and the Round 3 challenge will go live at 12:00pm est March 7th. This is to give those attending the FFS a chance to catch up with those that are not going. All video submissions for Round 3 will be due by 7:00pm March 13, giving everyone an extra 19 hours to submit their videos for just this week. As a last minute decision, I have decided to attend the show, and will be leaving bright and early tomorrow morning. Have a great weekend everyone! :plane:
I’ve been getting a lot of comments about the white chocolate Oreo Mousse, I’ll get the recipe together and send it. (Its super easy to do, and really good)
So your gonna tell me if I made it through round 2 on my birthday :birthday: ????? Gee that doesn’t add any stress at all! 😯
LOL! May the best video win!
Lets define the rules,(since this has not been addressed) Is it like “Iron Chef” where the secret ingredient has to find its way into every dish, or is it like chopped, where the ingredient can be utilized in a single area as a part of a complete presentation of a fixed challenge? Budda said we could make as many courses as we desired, but did not state that we had to use all ingredients in all dish’s, only that they be black and white, and we had to use Oreo’s.
Butch, you will be given cooking challenges that will be different from each other, so you just have to tackle each one as you get them. So do not expect them to be the same from round to round. You will always have to make the meals Spicy, and that is the only standard to go by.
Sam, that’s an awesome avatar picture of Danny, Joe and you. Do you have a full-sized version of it anywhere?
Where do you get these pics of Buddah? I guess he looks constipated more often than I realized. 😉
