REVIEW: Relleno Bros Monterey Jack Ghost Pepper Cheese

It isn’t often we get a chance to get hooked up with a cheese review that we didn’t orchestrate ourselves. Rick Riddle of Relleno Bros. reached out to me to setup one for his company. He sent us 2 blocks of his Monterey Jack Ghost Pepper Cheese, and just in time for me to take it with me to the North Market Fiery Food Show to share with some chileheads at the show. I got chilehead and cheese expert Donte Allen from Curds and Whey located in the North Market to give us his expert opinion. I also enlisted Johnny from Heartbreaking Dawns and my VA Viking buddy CajunVike to add to the review. Then after they gave us their opinion, I passed the cheese along to Firehead Thomas and Steve “The Machine” Smallwood. I add my 2 cents at the end. Lots of people, lots of opinions and we give it our cheesy best.

By the way, do not get freaked out by the age in the corner of the pic. That is not the cheese I got, just a picture for this review.

the piece I tried didn’t have alot of heat to it but yet was a very good tasting cheese in my opinion. Of course I’m not a cheese expert but I know I liked it.

I agree, it needs to be much hotter…decent flavor though.

How great would that cheese have tasted with those Douglah 7 Pot peppers? Jim Duffy should send him some for our experimentation. :hungry:
