A Controversial Interview with Jim Duffy Part 1 of 3

Why would an interview with a chile grower from San Diego be controversial? Well, I have been keeping some things under wraps for some time in relation to this man. He has quite an amazing story to tell, and perhaps will rock your chilehead world in telling it. If I told you that one of the biggest names in the industry is behind a scam and one of the world’s most famous books is behind a huge cover up, would you want to know? Well you will have to stay tuned for that and more. Part 1 discusses how Jim got started in the industry growing and selling chiles, seeds and plants. So get to know the man, and know why I have met my match in the talking department.

So by doing this Interview with Al I open myself up now to attack. I copy here an E mail sent to me by Gerald Fowler

“Jim people are going to question why you have only bad words for people. You are trying to attack my business and Dave de Witts to further your own.
You will end up being despised within the chilli comunity if you carry on.
You will get your shot next year, it sounds like you are a very sore loser.
    Gerald”

Gerald just does not get it. Getting the Record is not the main focus here. Gerald saying he created a 3 way Chile variety in a few years is an absolute flat out joke. It is scientifically impossible. In fact not even remotely possible. Then using the publicity of this made up variety to sell sauces and seeds is compromising ethics. I did interview with Al to tell the truth. Not get business away from Gerald. I am not a sore loser about this record. My business is growing with or without the record. Now I love how he says I am bad for going against Dave De Witt. Dave De Witt wanted me to go along with a lie about creating a new variety called the New Mexico Scorpion. We never created anything new and I refuse to lie. I know Dave De Witt has influence that could bring me more business. I don’t care I will not lie to my fellow chileheads. Gerald commented on this Interview on Youtube. Here is the link. If you support me go on there and tell him how you feel but please be tactful about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_em5td-Aoi4&feature=email&email=comment_received

Jim, what happened to the Infinity Chili? I’ve never seen any products with that in it. Was it any good? I tried a sauce yesterday with the 7 Pot Douglah in it, I think maybe it’s the hottest sauce I’ve ever tried. I can’t wait to try some 7 Pot powders. When is the harvest time for those?
