Winning Recipe: Round 2- Johnny McLaughlin

This is the winning recipe from the round 1 of our spicy cooking contest, “Feast Your Eyes on This”. Johnny of Heartbreaking Dawns won back to back rounds with his Black and White challenge dish. You can watch the entire full length video now. Below the video is the entire written recipe just in case you would like to a stab at any part of it.

Here’s the recipe for an all Black and White Rabbit dish:

Start with one whole rabbit and rub it down generously with Black Truffle Oil.
Use a coffee grinder to powder several Oreo Cookies, just the cookie, but save the cream for later in the dish.
Mix- 2 tbs Oreo Powder, 1 tbs Black Smoked Salish Sea Salt, 1 tbs Black Pepper and 1/2 tsp powdered chocolate habanero.
Rub the rabbit down and let sit for at least 4 hours, overnight is preferred.
Place the rabbit on all fours in a baking pan and roast (with a foil tent) at 350 for 25 minutes, remove the foil and let go another 5-10

While the rabbit is roasting.
Mash 5 cloves of Black Garlic, this has a tar-like consistency with a sweetness to it.
Saute the garlic in a little olive oil and add
1 handful of chopped black Trumpet Mushrooms (use a coarse chop)
finish this off with the cream from the oreos.

For the sauce:
Puree about 6 White Peppers (albino devils tonuge, ivory habs etc)
mix in about 1/2 can of coconut milk
1 tbs condensed cream milk
1tbs white vinegar
salt and pepper to taste.

Lay the rabbit over a bed of White rice and frame out with the sauteed mushrooms.
Drizzle the white cream sauce over the spine of the Rabbit and throw on the Three Dog Night!

The picture is mine not Johnny’s. I thought it was appropriate and has no Hellraiser reference as far as I know of. Think Monty Python.
