REVIEW: Irazu Volcanic Ghost Pepper Sauce

There seems to be a few Irazu Volcanic hot sauces on their website, so I must distinguish that this is their Ghost Pepper Extreme 70 version. Just the name Volcanic sounds hot, so adding on that extra tag, I am thinking buyer beware! For this review we got a few of our hot head reviewers who can handle this type of heat. We assembled Steve Smith, Ryan Graub, and Steve “The Machine” Smallwood to handle the task. All lovers of the ghost pepper, so we are going in the right direction with these guys. Let us see what they have to say about this product.

Yes I love the Machine’s Intro. The glob he put on his cracker was not man sized but machine sized. And of course did not faze him. Awesome Machine!

I was surprised by that. I couldn’t get that much out. But, even with half of what Steve used, I still got the hiccups. Heat was tolerable.

I do agree with you, Jim, that intro was great.

Thanks for the feedback. I enjoyed working on this sauce, as I am all about flavor, but wanted to kick the heat up a notch.

Oh, Ryan- you mentioned thinning the sauce (I think that there was a vapor lock in the neck on your review), but the only way to do that is to reduce the pepper content. Actually, the reason that we could not exceed 70% was due to the consistency.

Thanks for letting us review one of your products. Maybe we will catch you at a show some time in the near future.
