Review: Mary’s Flaming Dragon Asian Flavor Super Sauce

This is a the beginning of a new line from Chuck Evan’s Montezuma Brand. Chuck gave Firehead Thomas and I two products to review while at this past North Market Fiery Food Show. Both products are made with some tropical fruit in them. This one is more like an Asian style BBQ sauce and marinade. Chuck is more known for his award winning salsa, including the people’s choice in the salsa contest we did with Jungle Jim’s International Market 2 years ago at their Weekend of Fire Show. Beside salsa, Chuck has been playing around with all kinds of BBQ sauces, seasonings and hot sauces for years. His knowledge of peppers and ingredients is well known in this industry as he has co-authored a couple of books, including the Hot Sauce Bible.

As always we expect big things from Chuck, so let us see if he delivers with this first review.

FT, Parker tried to post something that didn’t work. Not sure what it was, but I deleted it, hence the oops.

I wish you could do a review of Montezuma wing sauce. It sounds really good, made with red savina mash. You have to buy a minimum of 3 items to order from their website, so I wanted to see a review of it first before I buy that much.

I have no clue about his wing sauce, but his salsas are very very good. You can not go wrong with ordering some of those. Also, if you have not ordered the HoneyBlaze wing sauce which I had today, then you are missing out. It is shy of the heat, but it is a wing sauce you will be licking your fingers with.

I don’t really buy many sweet sauces online, is the Honey Blaze really sweet with the honey? I might have to go ahead and order that Montezuma wing sauce, but I wish I could find a review, I can’t really tell from the pic what it would be like.

HoneyBlaze is best described as a traditional wing sauce with a sweetness to it, but not like candy sweet. Montezuma is better known for their salsa and chipotle hot sauces. I did not even know he had a wing sauce.

Yeah, Montezuma has two wing sauces- the Red Savina one and one with Jalapeno, Serrano, and Cayenne.
