REVIEW: RisingHy’s Honey Mustard

RisingHy’s tagline on their website reads as such, “RisingHy is a line of gourmet products made with all natural ingredients and guaranteed to tantalize your tastebuds!” They sent us 4 products for review each made with the habanero pepper. The first up is their Honey Mustard. The other ones we will also be reviewing are their hot sauce, an olive oil and a salt alternative seasoning. For this review we have Derrick Wood, the Missouri Boyz, (Scott Roberts & Ryan Graub) and the Schoberg’s, (Alex and Lauren). Before we get to their review, here is a little background for RisingHy.

History:

While in college Mike (owner) was blessed with a “hot sauce kit” and began experimenting in his college home. Roommates and neighbors were put through many trial batches and Habanero experiments… thanks to all of them… and the Habanero Hot sauce was born.

While finishing up his time at Northern Arizona University Mike decided to try his hand in the business world and formed RisingHy. As the paperwork was processing, this picture was taken of Mike and his “hot sauce kit” buddy and the logo was born. Thank you E-roc, we know that four in the morning can sometimes get the best of us!!

RisingHy has continued to expand it range of sauces to include: Honey Mustard, Habanero Olive Oil, and Citrus Habanero Salt.

Not a mustard fan? That is a typical spicy brown-honey mustard look.

I love mustard .. just normal mustard .. The farthest i go with mustard is maybe a jalapeno one . The best way to taste cheese is to put some mustard on it

😕 Cheese and mustard, blech! My Brother used to do that. Mustard should be spicy brown at its best, not that cheap yella stuff.

I’m very, VERY surprised at the other’s assessments of this product and their high ratings. But to each his own, I guess.

I am more surprised that you used a breadstick to make your assessment with. Never had a honey mustard outside of a sammich or glaze, like turkey or chicken or ham for example. I am just thankful as a NYer that you did not use the pizza with it.

I would like to add that me and Scott were both pressed for time and also were not able to properly give this product it’s fair due. But, I did keep the sauce along with the other products. I did use it on various foods to see if my opinions would change.

I tried this on some chicken, a sandwich and used it as a dipping sauce for veggies. Unfortunately, even after doing so, my rating still stays the same for this product.

I still love this stuff. I can’t use it enough. Thank God I found a jolokia mustard that I love too or I may have gone through withdrawals after this bottle of Riding Hy was empty.
