UCCFS Round 2: Nachos (2) vs Apple Pie (7)

Some of these match ups are quite intriguing. Here we are going with a favorite staple in snack food/appetizers with much versatility in how you put it all together. On the other side of the table is one of the biggest and infamous desserts to ever be sliced and put on a plate. You can warm in up and ice cream can be added, but beyond the recipe, there isn’t much you can do to it. If you ever had my late Grandmother Jeanette’s Apple Pie, you would know how to vote here, but I have not had anything close to her apple pie since. So is it more comforting to have a slice of warm apple pie or some cheesy, meaty, guacamole-filled, jalapeno-added nacho platter supreme? How do you vote? Tell us all about your dilemma.

seriously, how could Apple Pie not be seeded higher???? We are talking comfort food afterall right….seems like almost nothing could be more comforting than a slice of warm apple pie…hate to see this one go down even though I do like mucho nacho!

All seeding was based on an overall voting we did before the contest. Apple pie received a little bit better than average votes, so it was ranked accordingly. I thought a few of the seeds would’ve received more votes than they did, but in the end it still has to win to move on no matter the competition. :hungry:

I agree about the “comfort food” aspect of apple pie. But I still have to go with the mighty nacho on this…

I can also agree with the comfort aspects of hot dogs, apple pie and chevrolet, but apple has never been a favorite. Nachos mmmmmmmmmmm

this is fantastic but we make a spicy apple pie with our Southbound cider that in our opinion is just mouth watering.now regular apple pie is great and all but in a spicy challenge against nachos maybe we should think about giving the old school apple pie a leg to stand on.a spicy warm apple pie may have done a little better.
try the old favorites with a new Twisted kick ….just saying
