REVIEW: Born to Hula Presents Devon Allman’s Chipotle Blues
The label pic above is their old label and the one below is their new label. I think these are great designs either way. Maybe they should keep both and make the early design a collectible limited edition design. Anyway, this is the 2nd of our two reviews for Born to Hula. Our first review was for their Ghost of Ancho hot sauce and can be seen HERE. It was very well received from our panel of reviewers- Mer, The Pepper Boys and Derrick Wood. It also had an even cooler label in my opinion.
Will this chipotle hot sauce be as good as their Ghost of Ancho hot sauce? Maybe even better, which might be hard to do from the generous ratings given to it. Before we find out the verdict, you might be asking yourself, “who the hell is Devon Allman?” Devon is the son of the infamous Allman Brothers’ Greg Allman. Here is a little about why his name appears on this Born to Hula product…
Devon Allman’s Chipotle Blues
For Born to Hula’s latest creation we some how wanted to add music to our sauce? How is this possible? Through an introduction by a mutual friend, BTH was introduced to Devon Allman, a lover of food and music. So we took Chipotle chili’s and added some Blues Guitar from Devon and ended up with an all natural hot sauce called Chipotle Blues. A smokey, sweet, medium heat sauce that makes you feel like you just entered a smokey Blues Club in St. Louis. With Devon’s passion for food and both of us agreeing that the three most important things in life are Family, Food and Music this is the first of a family of Devon Allman condiments.
A chipotle /tʃɨˈpoʊtleɪ/ chi-poht-lay; Spanish: [tʃiˈpotle]), or chilpotle, which comes from the Nahuatl word chilpoktli meaning “smoked chili pepper” is a smoke-dried jalapeno that tends to be brown and shriveled.
It is a chili used primarily in Mexican and Mexican-inspired cuisines, such as Mexican-American and Tex-Mex

The first label was a mock up. It never made it to a bottle. Devon likes his Blues and the color Blue! lol
