Firehead Thomas presents…Zestfest 2013: Day 1 (The Golden Chile Awards)
Firehead Thomas’ video diary of his first day at the ZestFest show. He came just in time for the Golden Chile Awards Banquet. He mixes pics with some live footage of the event. Well done FT, and thank you so much for covering the show for us. Enjoy the next two days! If you wish to get the list of winners travel over to Scott Roberts page HERE and see it all. A big hearty congratulations to all the winners. Defcon Sauces cleaned up with the wing categories and Michael Lampros’ Gunther’s Gourmet rocked it with the salsa category and Best Salsa too with his Jalapeno Fresca. So many of our friends won like Clement Bourge of Cajun Heat for Best New Product, Chad Lowcock with his 13th Moon won for Best Drink, Doehne Duckworth of Deano’s Jalapeno’s for Best Snack and Tim Bader crushed it with best hot sauce at the show. Awesomeness.

Nice job Tom
Nice job, Tom. Wish I was there!!! Lots of names I didn’t recognize winning. Hope to see folks next month at North Market!
Totally awesome job Thomas
Congrats to the winners.
Nice that Defcon is back. Wish I hadn’t bought a 1/2 gallon while they were “out”
Lol…I feel your pain.
Adam Fehr is THE MAN!
Great job Firehead!!
That was a great video – I so wish I could have been there to accept my Golden Chile but it just wasn’t possible this year – next year for sure! Really appreciate you posting this, as it gave me a little sense of what the awards show was like.
Very cool!

Thanks for stopping by Scott. Congrats on the Golden Chile Awards and also the Hot Pepper ones as well. Going to the Fiery Food Show in Albuddahquerque?
That was SOOOO much fun! Congrats to the winners! Great job Thomas!
My bad, correction…Madison Chocolatiers did enter a product…I thought thay had not. Love those guys, and I feel they are the best spicy candy makers out there!
I’d love to, but have a lot going on locally at that time. The two events I’m shooting for are the Zestfest in oh oh Ohio in June & the Austin Hot Sauce Festival in August.
This one’s just too close to hit it – I really wanted to be at the Zestfest in Irving – what a missed sales opportunity to take a 1st place and not be there to sell sauce. Argh!
Ah well – spilled milk and all.
😉
Well hopefully I will see you in June in Columbus.
Thanks, Firehead! We did enter the C3 caramel sauce. Apparently it was not properly handled in the judging process. We will be entering next year 🙂
