KICKSTARTER: Texas Tears

Texas Tears is an up and coming hot sauce company located in Austin, TX. They just launched their first Kickstarter campaign in order to put their first product, an all natural Habanero Sauce, into production. It is made with only three ingredients: Habanero Peppers, Distilled Vinegar, and Atlantic Ocean Sea Salt. They age their peppers for two months, blend with vinegar, and then let the flavors meld for another month. The sauce is both gluten free and vegan, and contains no preservatives or added chemicals like most hot sauces do.

They are trying to raise enough money to make 2,000 bottles of their sauce. This includes kitchen rental, purchasing over 400 pounds of Habaneros, all of the bottles required, labels, and UPC licensing fees. They’ve listed out everything they need and the amount required for each one. If you pledge $15, you can get a 5 oz bottle of their sauce, or if you pledge $40 you can get a bottle and a t-shirt, which looks pretty awesome.
