What are the 2016 Flave Awards?

You can just find out by going to their website, (http://www.theflaveawards.com/) to see what it is all about since I am pretty much copying and pasting their information right here.  Well, mostly.  The International Flavor Awards, LLC (IFA’s) in conjunction with the creators of the Summer Feast Food & Music Festival are excited to invite you to compete in the “2016 Flave Awards”.  More about the Summer Feast below.  The Flave Awards are brand spanking new to this industry, so new there is no pictures yet of what they look like with less than a month to go.  They mention a glass trophy for all winners and ribbons for 2nd and 3rd place so at least that is something.  There are over 50 categories with an introductory cost of only $50/entry, but with 1 free entry if you enter 3 categories at $150 and 2 free entries if you enter 5 categories at $250.  That isn’t too bad to compete for something to put on display for customers to know you done right.  Now here is the part I think you will like the most, so pay close attention to what you read next:

All products entered into the “Flave Awards” will also be featured in a special IFA sponsored sampling tent throughout the 3 days of the Summer Feast.” This allows attendees to be introduced to your products in an environment where they can truly be appreciated (any marketing materials you provide will be displayed with your product). As an additional special bonus, the organizers of the “Summer Feast” have agreed to offer all registered participants of the “Flave Awards” the opportunity to vend for FREE  for the entire 3 days of the event! (Sorry for the late notice). For more information about vending at this event please contact:

.

Another thing to consider that is different than any award in this industry, it appears by the schedule of the judging and submissions, the actual judging might be going on during the Summer Fest 3-day event which starts on June 24th and ends June 26th. Not sure there is another way to interpret this:

Submissions must be received by June 20th, as judging is to begin on June 24th with results announced on June 27th!

Free admission, live music, affordable food & drinks and activities for all ages makes the Fiery Foods Festival a perfect event for the entire family. Chefs will prepare spicy, fiery and blazing hot foods that will please both chiliheads and non-chiliheads alike. The food will be spicy (but not unbearable) with a concentration of flavors, smells & colors that will awaken your senses. Bring the entire family to this event. There will be a Junior Chef Competition and other activities for various age levels. If your children like things on the mild side, there will also be a kids tent which will serve pizza, hot dogs and chicken tenders.

For adults, 21 and older, advance ticket purchase is required. The 3rd Annual Bacon, Brew & BBQ Fest features Jones Dairy Farm Bacon-infused appetizers, soups, entrees, dips, drinks and desserts prepared by the area’s top chefs. While the bacon is the focus of the event, there are hundreds of craft beers to sample, tons of barbecue from local Pit Masters and live music on three stages. This festival is only open to those 21 and older so take a break from the kids today and enjoy this one with your friends.  A single ticket purchase is required to enter the festival but once inside, everything is included.

You can sample foods from Africa, India, Mexico, Japan and many other Countries. Join in one of the free or low-cost classes and learn how to blend spices to make your dinners explode with flavor. Kids can compete in the Junior Chef Competition and the entire family can listen to free music, play games and enjoy some quality time together. You don’t need a passport but you will think you are traveling as you sample your way around the globe.
