Comfort Food Showdown: Round 1 – #5 Lasagna vs #12 Chicken Parm

This week’s matchup are two Italian mega-dishes.  We have favorite #5 Lasagna vs #12 Chicken Parm.  If you love Italian food like I do – my personal favorite cuisine – then you will have a tough time deciding on this battle.  Lasagna, is a favorite of many pasta lovers.  Layers upon layers of delight.  You can go meat or meatless, add pasta layers or veggie layers.  Then the choice of sauce and cheese is so interchangeable.  I have so many versions over the years, but the photo above is what I generally enjoy the most, with ground beef or sausage and a nice dose of ricotta and mozzarella cheese and nice basil and oregano flavor throughout.

Then there is Chicken Parmigiana or Chicken Parmesan or just simply Chicken Parm.  Whether it be tucked nicely in an Italian bread sammich or on a plate over some pasta, chicken parm makes for a delicious dish.  Extra cheese and sauce please!  Unlike lasagna there isn’t too much tweaking you can do to take away from the original recipe.
