Heartbreaking Dawns’ 2010 Ghost Pepper Brownie Brawl Buster

Imagine shoving the hottest pepper in the world in a brownie and then have an eating contest around the idea. That is exactly what happened at the 2010 Weekend of Fire Show at Jungle Jim’s International Market in Fairfield, Ohio. Heartbreaking Dawns’ hot sauce company made their ghost pepper brownies, added some evilly hot icing(ILOVEITSPICING) and we have the brownie brawl buster. It looks like Johnny had a killer time as host of this event. The contestants for the most part seemed to love the brownies despite all the heat.

I think ILIS will be a permanent sponsor for this event as long as Heartbreaking Dawns will do it and have us at their side. It was a lot of fun. In the final round as we brought everyone closer a guy named Chris sat down and then ran for higher ground never to be seen at the table again. I do believe Passow has some picks of Chris in the Passowrazzi chase down at the Oscar Event Center. Look for Chris wearing red and holding a clear plastic bag around the 9:30 mark.

Heartbreaking Dawns also won Blogger’s Favorite New Product at the show for their new Datil Trail Preserves. To check their products out included getting one of their Bhut Jolokia Brownies please visit their online store below.

Awesome footage! We’ve got to make this on an annual event, it was just too much fun! Thanks again to Jungle Jim’s, I love it spicy, all of the participants, and of course our winner Hudd!!

So the one who “ate” them first won! Love Johnny’s Kinder gentler style commentary! Very entertaining, well done!

Yep, parker, first one with an “empty mouth” won. I actually gagged a couple times before I was able to swallow down the last mouthful of the brownie. (no rude remarks about gagging and swallowing needed) The brownies were quite tasty and the icing was really good too. This was a fun contest and I can’t wait to get my bottle to put beside my plaque. Thanks HBD and Buddah!

They were very good, if I hadn’t had that hash brown and sausage egg and cheese biscuit on the way to the show, you would have been toast Hudd!:)

Did the icing help the brownie slide down easier than in round one?

No, the icing made it richer, therefore harder to take down quickly.

I had also stopped at McD’s before getting there. Actually I was running late leaving the house and thought I would miss the brownie contest. Got there just in time for the sign up and had just about 5 minutes before it started. Glad I didn’t eat all 10 Death Match wings the night before or I wouldn’t have been able to done the brownies.

not really. just made things gooier (is that a word). Having a brownie from the center of the pan made it easier to eat than the edge pieces though!

I’m just glad I didn’t go into a sugar coma from eating all those brownies!

I was bloated all day, it really cut into my beer drinking capabilities.
