Description: The North Market Fiery Foods Festival on Saturday, February 20 is a free event. Festival activities will take place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Market hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. To participate in the Salsa Contest, Hot Sauce Contest, Customer Chili Cook-off or the Chef Chili Challenge, and for more information, please call (614) 463-9664 or visit www.northmarket.com. Sign up for the Hot Pepper and Hot Wing Eating Contests will take place in the Dispatch Kitchen on the day of the event. A tasting fee of $5 enables onlookers to sample all of the chilis by both professional chefs and amateur contestants while supplies last.

I’m there. Betty’s entering chili and her award winning salsa, and I’m entered in the hot sauce contest. Danny is doing the wings again and depending on how I feel, I’ll do the wing contest one more time. Getting too old for that craziness!

im getting on to look up the info right now, im going to try to make it. the events starting at 9am is a discouragement though seeing as how i normally go to bed around 7 am.
Justin, CaJohn is having an Open House on the Friday before the event from 1pm-9pm if you can make that.
that one is more likely. i want to enter the amature hot sauce contest at north market though. maybe if someone here is going but dont plan to enter the contest themselfs is willing i will ship you a couple jars, one to enter for me and one to keep for yourself. any takers?

May not need it! He did bring it up tonite..that “IF” we go that he’d like to enter his chili in the contest..but that we aren’t spending the night!lol So at least he’s thinking about it..gotta get everything straight for what happens when so I can work on him a bit more!
Uh-Oh..I see the ameture chili registration is full already..but the salsa competition is not! Gotta get the details on that one..does it have to be made on site…etc..cuz I would like to enter the 40:1 if I can.
Sandi, call CaJohn and see if he can squeeze you into the chili contest and for the rules about the salsa contest. Based on the hot sauce rules from last year, I do not believe you have to. The chili you do though.
I wrote the North Market last night about both contests..not looking good for either one..for a couple of reasons..Buddah you have mail!
