2012 Fiery Food Show Happenings

I know there is BBQ in the title for this show, but we love it spicy here, and if it is spicy BBQ sauce, then it is hot sauce in the end, and that is all we care about. I will try to report, video tape some stuff with my fellow blogmates- Ryan Graub, Firehead Thomas, Xero, and Albuddahquerque’s own, Fiber Joe. I hope to be able to send some time with them, but it is a big, big show, and everyone has their own agenda. I don’t much have one, except to see my friends, and hope to make some new ones along the way. I know that I would like to thank Jim Duffy of www.superhotchiles.com for making it easier for me to come with his generosity and friendship. Thank you very much Jim. It doesn’t mean I will spend any time in the hot tub with you and Ryan. Not gonna happen.

As we get stuff and I get the time, I will do my best to post it for you. I know too well though, that I get into the show and the people too much and my computer is slow, so forgive me if it doesn’t happen as fast as one of those twittererer people. I wasn’t even supposed to be here, as my airfare, hotel, car rental and show tickets were all purchased hours before leaving. I had no plans, and had to a quick load of laundry before leaving. So forgive me if I am not prepared because I really am not.

You can head over to www.EatMoreHeat.com for some live webcasting as they did so well last year.

It’s true folks…I’ll testify firsthand that ol’ Buddah really did leave the house in an unprepared frenzy. lol! But I’m glad you were able to make it after all. 🙂

Buddah, are you sure James and EatMoreHeat crew are doing live broadcasts this year? I checked with him earlier and he said they were not. Any of the other bloggers doing any vidcasts?

You know we love BBQ at Pirate Jonnys as we have just won awards for the 2nd year at the National BBQ Association! Wow, I am making a note for this awesome event next year. I am truly envious!

Yeah Jeff, I didn’t know that they weren’t doing the webcast again. Sorry for the misinformation.

I am just enjoying walking the show, talking and hanging with some of my chile brothers and sisters. Had some new sauces that never had before and its been a while that this many new products were so “buyable” for my tastes. I wish I was closer to home to take them back with me via the car than by plane. Anything with glass is just not taking the trip back with me. I will mention those companies when I am not so tired. The one thing I can say that has made my show interesting is my eyeglasses breaking in half while driving to the Sandia. After waking around blurry-eyed for hours I got some fiery duct tape from the BBQ master Brad Orrison of the Shed, and was able to see again. Its been fun so far, and got to hang a little with some of my reviewers- Xero, Ryan, Fiber Joe and Firehead Thomas. Plus watching Duffy work the show is funny because it seemed he talked to everyone before I got there. So many names to mention I am not going to so I don’t leaving anyone out. Good night.

Well at least it was only your glasses that you broke and not a bone. LOL!

The restaurant in Santa Fe called Cafe Pasqual was a homerun! Great call, Buddah-man.

I wished I could have joined you guys in Santa Fe. But, I really enjoyed helping out Sam and Tina at their booth. It was great meeting some of you guys for the first time. I wish I could have spent a little bit more time with Firehead and Annabelle. Keep your eyes peeled for my recap of the show on Scott’s site.

Great interview guys. Sorry we couldn’t make it. Next time for sure!

And Firehead, they didn’t steer you wrong, the Frisco BBQ Challenge and the Krystal 93 BBQ at the Summit (in Dillon) are two great events. You really need to come check one out. Here’s a video of the Golden Toad Competition BBQ Team rockin’ out in Frisco a few year’s back. http://youtu.be/neQ994hVRHk
