Feast Your Eyes on This Spicy Cooking Challenge 2013- Round 4

Round 4

We are now down to the final 5 as we say goodbye to one of our contestants in the video below. This was one of the best produced recipe challenges we ever had, but it was also the most confusing one too. That I take the blame for and must apologize to our contestants, the judges, and our loyal fans for making it so complex. Even with the issues the video recipes were off the hook. Now we move onto Round 4 and I think this is going to be a very fun challenge. The contestants are giving a HUGE choice to make, and it will be interesting which road they choose. Our sponsor for this round is once again TATS Sauces & Marinades. They are running a special during the contest for you all. Buy any 2 products and they will give a FREE Bottle of their 6 Feet Under hot sauce by typing the word “Nancyboy” in the comments area at checkout. Thanks to Derek and Shauna Jellsey for their double sponsorship with us. Click on the banner below to get you some TATS!

Plus, Chile Pepper Magazine will give an advertising package valued at over $2000. Cash prizes will also be awarded by Endorphin Farms & Refining Fire Chiles. Together, 1st place will receive an additional $300, the runner-up $150, and 3rd place $100. Plus, on top of all that good stuff, they will get one big ass trophy from yours truly. I thank all our great sponsors for their contributions to this spicy cooking challenge. Without them we would have no contest.

Seems to be a codec problem with his video. I’m trying to watch on my phone now to see if that works.

Hey al, we will get a time extension then right? Especially since mike already knows what it is and can get started figuring things out etc? Puts the rest at a disadvantage

I repeat the challenge on the scroll at the end of the video. You have 2 choices, an easy nd a hard one. If you go easy, you must make an Easter Day meal(plate). Only ingredient is an egg. The hard way is you make a dish the looks like something but really is something else. Google “April Fools Foods” for ideas. You can replicate any dish you find if you want.

I will give every extended time depending on when I repost the video. Sorry for the inconvenience. Not sure what went wrong, but must be something in the editing. I will be home at 1pm and get to fixing this mess.

Okay, I misinterpreted the rule after all. I thought the chimichanga was an CH item of its own once created, and the sour cream, and guacamole were two of the non CH items I would be allowed. doh
Good luck to the rest of the contestants!

Sorry Tina. I do not think you were scored primary on that because the judges were mostly lenient on that part of the rules because they were so confusing. They thought the other dishes were more creative and had more CH items in them.

Once again, my apologies for the botched upload with YouTube. There was nothing wrong with the video as it went on YouTube without any issues the 2nd time. Never happened to me before that I am aware of. At any rate, everyone has until 4am EST to send me their challenge videos. I still want them earlier the better of course so I don’t have to worry about them when I wake up Sunday morning. If they do not work, then I won’t have time to tell you. So good luck this week!
