UCCFS: PB & J Sandwich vs Waffles Round 1

I grew up on PB & J Sammiches, but as an adult they just don’t get into the rotation of meals too often. As much as I can appreciate a good PB & J, I am not sure it will go too far in the comfort showdown. Last weekend, I had a deep fried PB & J sandwich, and it was I must admit pretty good. So there is a little more flexibility beyond the choice of crunchy or creamy peanut butter, the jelly you pick, and the bread you layer it on. Cooked or uncooked it is pretty much eat it as it is. Waffles on the other hand is like a blank canvas, and you are the artist.

As seen in the picture above, waffles goes way beyond the typical maple syrup pourage. You can add all kinds of goodies atop the grooved surface. There is also a few different kinds of waffles with Belgian being the most popular. Does size matter or is what lies above mean the most to the typical waffle eater? Everyone is different and so is each waffle creation. In fact, try a PB & J combo on top of one or reverse it in between two waffles for a unique sammich.

Even with all the flaxibility of the waffle my heart still yearns for the simplicity of the simplest of Goobers PB & J on white bread. What about you?

This may be the first bout where I’ve cared for neither one of the choices and don’t have a fave out of the two. I hope the winner of this gets trounced by something else in the second round. 😉

I went with PB&J. As long as it’s not a Goober sammich. Never did like that. Don’t really care for waffles but I’ll eat one now and then while on vacation at the hotel.

They’re not big fans of either one, either. They haven’t eaten a PB&J or a waffle in about 2-3 years.
